From Kmart, Bill was recruited to C&S Wholesale Grocers and later Arrow Electronics, where he served in global HR leadership capacities. At Arrow, a multibillion-dollar technology distribution giant, he embraced the challenge of leading a newly created global HR function during a critical transformation period. He played a pivotal role in evolving the company from a multi-national to a truly global entity, integrating systems, standardizing processes, and fostering a cohesive culture that could scale internationally. In 2004, Bill joined Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., beginning a 16-year chapter marked by rapid advancement and lasting impact. Starting as Vice President of Human Resources for Christmas Tree Shops, he quickly proved his ability to scale HR functions across a complex, multi-brand portfolio. As he ascended to Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of the entire Bed Bath & Beyond enterprise, Bill oversaw HR operations for over 65,000 employees and a dozen portfolio retail, e-commerce, and BtB brands. His strategic direction was integral to managing workforce transitions during periods of acquisitions, divestitures, and evolving market dynamics. His deep understanding of both brick-and-mortar and e-commerce retail environments enabled him to anticipate trends and adapt talent strategies that enhanced agility and growth.

Following his impactful tenure at Bed Bath & Beyond, Bill was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Ensemble Health Partners, a private equity-backed, $1.5+ billion revenue cycle management leader. At Ensemble, he led a comprehensive HR transformation effort that reshaped how the organization scaled and executed from less than 5000 associates to over 11,000 associates across the United States and India. His leadership played a central role in Ensemble earning repeated national honors, including the Best in KLAS award and multiple Top Workplaces USA distinctions. Bill’s contributions went far beyond policy and process; he nurtured a values-driven culture, embedded diversity and inclusion at every level, and built leadership pipelines to support long-term sustainability.
