Before launching his consulting practice, Thomas served for more than nine years as Vice President of Sales & Marketing and Chief Sales & Marketing Officer for ERCO Worldwide, a leading specialty chemicals company. As a member of the senior executive leadership team and the U.S. Board of Directors, he led the company’s global Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Technical Service, and Business Development organizations. Under his leadership, the commercial organization underwent significant transformation through the integration of multiple customer-facing functions, implementation of improved account management strategies, development of product management capabilities, enhancement of pricing disciplines, modernization of CRM systems, and introduction of advanced marketing operations. These initiatives strengthened customer relationships, improved organizational alignment, and positioned the company for profitable global growth while enhancing overall operational efficiency.
Thomas previously enjoyed an exceptional 28-year career with DuPont, where he steadily advanced into senior executive leadership positions overseeing billion-dollar global businesses and complex international commercial organizations. His leadership responsibilities included global sales, corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, business development, organizational transformation, and commercial operations for some of DuPont’s most recognized product portfolios, including Kevlar®, Nomex®, Tyvek®, TyChem®, and Sontara®. Throughout these leadership roles, Thomas successfully managed large-scale global organizations while driving strategic initiatives that consistently exceeded business expectations.
Among Thomas’s most significant accomplishments at DuPont was leading the renewal of the Protection Technologies five-year global strategy process. Working directly with the business president, chief financial officer, senior leadership team, and corporate planning organization, he helped develop a comprehensive strategic roadmap that was ultimately presented to and supported by the Chief Executive Officer. He also spearheaded the Global Stage Gate Growth Process Improvement Program, establishing standardized business planning and decision-making processes across worldwide operations. These efforts improved resource allocation, enhanced reporting consistency, strengthened strategic prioritization, and reinforced alignment across multiple global business units.
Thomas also played a pivotal role in transforming DuPont’s worldwide commercial capabilities. He led the implementation of Salesforce.com across global operations, modernized strategic account management processes, introduced advanced customer segmentation and pricing methodologies, and developed standardized commercial operating rhythms that significantly improved sales performance and customer engagement. Earlier in his career, while serving on DuPont’s Corporate Sales & Marketing Effectiveness Leadership Team, he collaborated with Deloitte to develop pricing and value-capture methodologies that generated more than $1 billion in revenue improvements while identifying tens of millions of dollars in profit enhancement opportunities through optimized commercial strategies. These accomplishments illustrate both his strategic insight and his ability to execute complex global transformation initiatives successfully.
