With a solid foundation in Entertainment Design for Digital Production from the Gnomon School of Visual Effects, Jeremy transitioned into tech and virtual reality (VR) at ILM XLAB, the innovation hub within ILM. His early experience in VR laid the groundwork for a later pivotal role in VR-assisted surgeon training, allowing him to leverage his skills in real-time rendering, shading, and asset/artist management.
Jeremy’s career expanded into the gaming industry with positions at EA’s Visceral Games and later Crystal Dynamics, where he contributed to the Marvel Avengers Game. As an Environment Artist III, he was responsible for creating original concepts in 3D, optimization, and handling rigging and animation for both in-game and cinematic assets. Jeremy’s adaptability and technical artistry made him a key player in high-pressure environments.
In 2020, Jeremy’s expertise attracted the attention of Apple, where he worked as a Hard Surface Modeler through Aquent. Shortly after, he joined Osso VR, stepping into a field where his expertise in digital precision could directly impact surgical training. His entry into Osso VR came at a crucial time when traditional training methods were constrained due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Jeremy’s leadership and expertise enabled him to establish a robust art department dedicated to creating photorealistic VR assets for training in orthopedic and pharmaceutical procedures.
Jeremy’s role at Osso VR evolved rapidly as he advanced from the first hard-surface artist to Leading the hard surface team, to the Art Director. As Art Director, he built a department of 40 individuals, defining visual standards, directing asset creation, building pipelines and production, and ensuring the clinical accuracy of art content. His commitment to cross-functional collaboration with departments such as medical illustration, engineering, product, and marketing enabled him to build a cohesive and efficient team that produced hundreds of assets annually. His leadership style emphasized both creativity and operational efficiency, and he implemented realistic timelines and humane expectations, ensuring high standards and timely project delivery.
Beyond his technical and artistic achievements, Jeremy is known for his mentorship and support within his teams.
