    Heather Pidcoke: Translational Research; Bridging Innovations for Human and Veterinary Health.

In that role, she guided key initiatives during the COVID 19 pandemic which resulted in wastewater surveillance, saliva screening of up to 25,000 individuals per week, and rapid response to data and data modeling. She is also a champion of integrated approaches to clinical research, including adaptive clinical trial design and use of comparative medicine to accelerate clinical development programs. Dr. Pidcoke has an appointment as joint faculty in the Department of Clinical Sciences within CSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, she serves as academic editor for PLOS ONE, and has served as reviewer and chair for Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs. Her translational research interests include trauma critical care and novel transfusion products aimed at improving the resuscitation of massively bleeding patients. Pidcoke is a subject matter expert in the field of remote damage control resuscitation and the use of blood products and biologics in austere environments.

    Previously serving as Director of Global Translational Affairs and Clinical Safety Terumo BCT, Inc., as Chief Medical Officer at Cellphire Therapeutics, and as a Principal Investigator at the US Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR), Pidcoke has academic, industry, and military research experience.
