Eric Bartosz: Building the Strategy, Systems, and Leadership That Drive Lasting Growth

Published on:

“I help organizations move beyond potential and into performance—building the strategy, systems, and people capability needed to deliver results that last.”

Eric Bartosz is a seasoned executive leader, fractional C-suite partner, board advisor, educator, author, and organizational performance strategist whose career has been defined by a consistent ability to transform opportunity into measurable growth. With more than two decades of executive and commercial leadership experience, he has worked alongside business owners, senior executives, and global leadership teams to strengthen strategy, accelerate revenue, expand markets, and create the organizational discipline required for sustained performance. Across his career, Eric has directly contributed to more than $100 million in new revenue while building a reputation for combining strategic vision with disciplined execution.

As Founder and CEO of BAR40 Fractional Solutions, Eric works with CEOs, business owners, and leadership teams that need experienced executive guidance without the cost or structure of a full-time C-suite hire. His work spans strategic planning, business development, sales acceleration, market expansion, process standardization, succession planning, leadership development, and go-to-market execution. He is particularly effective in environments where organizations have strong potential but need greater clarity, accountability, consistency, and operating discipline to reach the next stage of growth. Through BAR40, Eric has also integrated emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, emotional intelligence, and performance analytics into traditional leadership and commercial frameworks, helping organizations modernize without losing sight of the fundamentals that drive results.

Eric’s executive career includes significant leadership responsibility within both U.S. and international organizations. As Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Alliances at Sihl Inc., he helped lead strategy for a U.S. portfolio valued at approximately $110 million and encompassing more than 2,000 products. As a member of the U.S. Leadership Team, he collaborated closely with the Germany-based C-suite to align corporate strategy, product development, market positioning, and commercial execution. He also managed major national accounts, directed marketing and product initiatives, and led cross-functional teams responsible for bringing European innovations successfully into the U.S. market.

Previously, as U.S. Director of Business Development for United Kingdom-based Contra Vision, Eric played a pivotal role in expanding the importance of the American market to the company’s global business. During his tenure, the U.S. market’s contribution to company revenue grew from approximately 30 percent to 70 percent between 2016 and 2021. His responsibilities went far beyond traditional sales leadership: he developed market-entry and expansion strategies, cultivated strategic relationships with national clients, shaped product and sales positioning, analyzed emerging market trends, and delivered training to global sales teams, distributors, customers, and end users. This experience strengthened his ability to operate across cultures, translate corporate priorities into local-market action, and build alignment between international leadership teams and customer-facing organizations.

Earlier in his career, Eric established a track record of scaling commercial organizations and revitalizing underperforming markets. At Windsor Marketing Group, he completed a strategic engagement focused on reversing declining market share within national retail accounts and generated approximately $5 million in new revenue from major customers including Toys “R” Us and Rite Aid. At Clear Focus Imaging, he doubled territory sales revenue within his first 18 months and generated approximately $3 million in incremental revenue during his first year. At xpedx, now part of Veritiv, he helped direct a sales organization of more than 100 professionals and spearheaded the creation of a dedicated Graphics Business Unit for the Metro New York market. Earlier, at National Envelope, he led sales across a large multi-state territory, helping grow annual revenue from roughly $70 million to a peak of approximately $115 million.

The breadth of Eric’s experience has given him particular strength in manufacturing, industrials, consumer goods, automotive, pharmaceutical and life sciences, healthcare, higher education, professional services, private equity portfolio companies, family-owned businesses, and nonprofit organizations. His expertise includes succession planning, strategic design and implementation, market strategy, business development, sales acceleration, workflow standardization, technology adoption, leadership development, project management, and organizational consistency. He is especially drawn to situations where companies must bridge the gap between strategic ambition and operational execution, and where a board or leadership team can benefit from an advisor who understands both the commercial realities of the marketplace and the organizational dynamics that determine whether a strategy succeeds.

Eric’s perspective is also shaped by a strong academic foundation. He earned an MBA in Marketing and Management from DeSales University, graduated cum laude from St. John’s University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, and completed the Leadership Principles program through Harvard Business School Online. Today, he serves as an adjunct MBA professor at DeSales University and as graduate faculty in Organizational Leadership at Muhlenberg College. In those roles, he teaches leadership, strategy, emotional intelligence, executive decision-making, communication, organizational management, and related disciplines. His classroom work allows him to continually test real-world executive experience against evidence-based leadership principles, creating a distinctive combination of academic rigor and field-tested practicality.

Beyond the boardroom and classroom, Eric has developed a significant platform as an author, columnist, speaker, and leadership educator. He is the bestselling author of BAR40: Achieving Personal Excellence, a Forbes Business Council contributor, and a longtime columnist whose writing explores leadership, accountability, performance, mindset, and personal development. He has authored more than 100 articles and has appeared in media and podcast settings focused on business and performance. As a keynote speaker, facilitator, emotional intelligence trainer, and TED-related organizer and speaker, he is known for translating complex leadership ideas into practical concepts that audiences can apply immediately.

Service and community leadership are equally important dimensions of Eric’s professional identity. He has served on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley and the Southern Lehigh Public Library, and he has held civic leadership roles including President of the Saucon Rail Trail Oversight Commission and service on the Upper Saucon Parks and Recreation Commission. He has also served his community as a firefighter, youth sports coach, race director, and founder of charitable and community initiatives. These experiences reinforce a leadership philosophy grounded not simply in achievement, but in stewardship, service, accountability, and the responsibility to improve the organizations and communities one is entrusted to serve.

As Eric continues to pursue board and advisory opportunities, he brings an uncommon blend of executive operating experience, entrepreneurial perspective, international exposure, commercial discipline, academic insight, and community leadership. He understands how to ask the questions that clarify priorities, identify hidden constraints, and move organizations from discussion to action. His value to a board lies not only in his ability to recognize growth opportunities, but also in his understanding of the systems, people, processes, and leadership behaviors required to capture them. For organizations seeking a board member or advisor who can contribute meaningfully to strategy, growth, succession, organizational effectiveness, and leadership development, Eric offers both the breadth of perspective and the practical experience to help move performance forward.

Character:
Eric leads with accountability, service, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility to the organizations and communities he supports. His extensive civic involvement, board service, teaching, and public-service commitments reflect a leadership style centered on contribution, consistency, and leaving organizations stronger than he found them.

He combines decades of executive sales, strategy, marketing, business development, and organizational leadership experience with formal academic training and ongoing university teaching. His knowledge base spans commercial growth, leadership, emotional intelligence, process improvement, market expansion, technology adoption, and the practical realities of operating across diverse industries and international markets.

Strategic:
Eric has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to identify growth opportunities, design practical strategies, and translate high-level objectives into measurable business outcomes. His career includes expanding market share, building new business units, accelerating sales performance, guiding product launches, creating go-to-market strategies, and helping leadership teams establish the systems required for sustainable execution.

An accomplished educator, bestselling author, columnist, keynote speaker, trainer, and executive facilitator who is skilled at making complex ideas understandable and actionable. Whether addressing a board, advising a CEO, teaching graduate students, or leading a training session, he communicates with clarity, credibility, and a strong focus on driving understanding into action.
