“Striving to Help People Be Their Best.”
Don Wight is an accomplished technology executive, transformational revenue leader, and trusted business strategist whose career spans more than three decades of helping software companies accelerate growth, scale operations, and maximize enterprise value. Recognized for his operational discipline and customer-first leadership philosophy, Don has built an impressive track record leading organizations through rapid expansion, international growth, acquisitions, and public company milestones. His experience as a Chief Revenue Officer, President, and executive leader across multiple high-growth technology companies has positioned him as a respected authority in go-to-market strategy and organizational scaling. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to developing exceptional teams, creating repeatable growth models, and helping organizations achieve sustainable long-term success.
Rather than limiting his expertise to a single industry, Don has intentionally built a broad technology portfolio that enables him to recognize successful growth patterns across multiple markets. His experience spans enterprise software, SaaS, employee experience platforms, business intelligence, open-source software, cybersecurity, infrastructure, CRM, marketing technology, restaurant technology, supply chain solutions, and cloud computing. This diverse background has equipped him with a unique perspective on how successful organizations evolve and the strategic decisions required at every stage of maturity. Whether working with emerging startups or established enterprises, Don consistently brings practical operational insight that translates strategy into measurable business results.
Currently serving as Chief Revenue Officer at Simpplr, Don oversees the company’s global go-to-market organization, including sales, partnerships, revenue operations, enablement, and solution consulting across North America and Europe. During his leadership, Simpplr increased annual recurring revenue from approximately $55 million to $70 million while strengthening organizational alignment and commercial execution. His leadership philosophy centers on building scalable infrastructure, empowering customer-facing teams, and establishing disciplined processes that support sustainable revenue growth. By combining operational excellence with strategic vision, he continues to position the organization for continued expansion within the rapidly evolving employee experience software market.
Prior to Simpplr, Don served as Chief Revenue Officer and later President of Punchh, where he led all customer-facing organizations including sales, marketing, customer success, and partnerships. Under his leadership, the company increased annual recurring revenue by approximately 50 percent in less than two years, creating significant enterprise value that culminated in Punchh’s acquisition by PAR Technology in a transaction valued at approximately $500 million. His ability to align commercial execution with corporate strategy helped strengthen market positioning while preparing the organization for a highly successful acquisition.
Earlier, as Chief Revenue Officer at Demandbase, Don played an instrumental role in transforming one of the industry’s leading Account-Based Marketing platforms into a high-growth software leader. During his tenure, bookings increased from approximately $10 million to nearly $120 million while the customer-facing organization expanded from just 15 employees to more than 150 professionals. He also developed a world-class sales enablement organization and implemented scalable revenue operations that supported approximately 70 percent year-over-year top-line growth. His work at Demandbase became a model for how disciplined execution and strategic planning can accelerate commercial performance in competitive technology markets.
Don’s foundation as a world-class operating executive was established during nearly eight years with Jaspersoft, where he served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations. There, he helped scale revenue from startup levels to more than $40 million while expanding the customer base to over 14,000 organizations worldwide. He led the company’s transition toward a commercial open-source business model and successfully built customer-facing organizations throughout Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America. His leadership extended across sales, professional services, customer support, customer success, and channel development, giving him comprehensive expertise across every stage of the customer lifecycle.
Throughout his career, Don has consistently demonstrated an ability to build organizations from the ground up. His leadership experience includes executive roles with Nitro, PowerReviews, Open Harbor, Netcentives, and several earlier technology organizations where he repeatedly established high-performing sales organizations, developed scalable operational frameworks, and created predictable revenue engines. He has successfully worked with businesses ranging from approximately $5 million to over $200 million in annual recurring revenue while leading organizations with employee counts from fewer than 20 to well over 1,000. His experience includes successful IPO participation, multiple acquisitions, international expansion initiatives, and the operational scaling that accompanies each stage of corporate growth.
One of Don’s greatest strengths is his comprehensive understanding of the complete go-to-market ecosystem. Rather than focusing solely on sales leadership, he has spent more than twenty years overseeing virtually every customer-facing function, including sales, marketing, partnerships, customer success, sales enablement, revenue operations, solution consulting, pricing strategy, packaging, channel development, and demand generation. This holistic perspective enables him to identify operational efficiencies, improve cross-functional collaboration, and build integrated commercial organizations capable of delivering consistent, long-term growth. His reputation as both a strategist and an operator makes him particularly valuable to executive leadership teams and corporate boards alike.
International business development has also played a significant role throughout Don’s executive career. He has successfully led commercial expansion efforts across Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and North America while building regional field organizations and strategic channel partnerships that accelerated global revenue growth. His experience navigating international markets has strengthened his understanding of cultural differences, regional buying behaviors, and the operational complexities associated with scaling global technology businesses. This worldwide perspective allows him to guide organizations seeking international expansion with confidence and practical experience.
Beyond the boardroom, Don is deeply committed to making a positive impact through service. He has served as a Board Director for Rise Against Hunger, formerly Stop Hunger Now, supporting the organization’s mission to combat global food insecurity by providing meals to vulnerable communities around the world. His dedication to humanitarian service reflects the same leadership philosophy that has guided his professional career: investing in people, creating opportunities for growth, and helping individuals and organizations become the very best versions of themselves. He also serves as an advisor to several companies, sharing decades of executive experience with founders and leadership teams seeking guidance on scaling operations and accelerating growth.
Don believes his extensive experience makes him uniquely qualified for corporate board service because he has repeatedly navigated the critical inflection points that define successful companies. Having helped build organizations through multiple stages of growth, acquisitions, international expansion, and public company transitions, he understands what lies around the corner as businesses mature. His combination of strategic foresight and operational execution allows him to provide practical guidance that helps leadership teams avoid common pitfalls while capitalizing on emerging opportunities. As he continues serving in fractional executive leadership roles, Don is actively seeking additional board opportunities where he can leverage his decades of experience to help innovative companies achieve their next chapter of success.
