    Thomas J. Smejkal is a distinguished quality management professional with a proven track record of advancement and increased responsibility throughout his career. Currently serving as the Corporate Director of Quality at The Boldt Company, Thomas has demonstrated exceptional leadership in developing and leading quality teams, implementing robust quality management systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across multiple operating groups. Under his guidance, the company’s quality program has been standardized, aligning with certification requirements and supporting Boldt’s 10-year growth plan.

    Prior to his current role, Thomas held the position of Director of QA Compliance Administration at Fincantieri Marinette Marine, where he established a proactive compliance team and developed methodologies to ensure contractual compliance and reduce noncompliance risks. His tenure as Quality Manager at Barnes Aerospace saw a significant reduction in the cost of quality and the successful implementation of quality systems that met AS9100 and NADCAP standards.

    Thomas also contributed to DRS – Naval Power Systems by leading the transition to new ISO and AS9100 standards and creating internal audit training programs. His expertise was further demonstrated at Matrix NAC, where he designed and implemented the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and improved process control and improvement procedures.

    As Business Excellence Advisor and Quality Director at Mammoet Global, Thomas consolidated regional QHSE policies into a unified global standard and achieved ISO 9001-2008 registration. At Appleton Marine Inc., he managed multiple transitions of ISO standards, significantly lowered cost of quality, and maintained high customer satisfaction levels.

    Thomas holds a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from the University of Wisconsin School of Business and is certified as a Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, AS9100, and ISO 14001. He has been recognized for his contributions as a judge for the American Society for Quality’s International Team Excellence Award and has extensive training in advanced welding theory, coaching, and executive leadership.
