“Try to do better today than what you did yesterday.”

Tasha Taylor’s professional journey is a testament to the power of compassion fused with strategic leadership. With more than 30 years of experience across mental health, human resources, and administration, Tasha has seamlessly navigated both clinical and corporate environments to create meaningful, lasting impact. Her dedication to building healthier relationships—within families, communities, and organizations—has made her a uniquely influential figure in the intersection of behavioral health and organizational development.

Born with a deep sense of empathy and an innate drive to support others, Tasha discovered early in life that her purpose lay in helping people grow—personally and professionally. This calling would later shape a robust career, first sparked through her academic path in Health Science at Georgia Southern University, followed by dual graduate degrees in Business Administration with a Human Resources focus from Strayer University, and Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. Each milestone equipped her with a powerful dual lens: one grounded in systemic therapeutic insight, the other in business acumen and operational leadership.

Tasha’s professional experience began in the corporate world, where she spent over 13 years with Dick’s Sporting Goods, serving as an Administrative Assistant. There, she took on key responsibilities that spanned employee support, loss prevention, payroll coordination, and daily operations—laying the groundwork for her human resources expertise. Her time in this role was not just about logistics; it was about people. Her ability to anticipate needs, resolve conflicts, and foster teamwork became her signature approach, earning the respect of both peers and leadership.

Her managerial foundation was further shaped during her service in the United States Navy, where she served in leadership roles for two years. The structure, discipline, and high-stakes nature of military leadership expanded her confidence in navigating complex team dynamics and handling high-pressure situations. That formative experience built a framework of resilience and decisiveness—skills that would serve her well in every professional context that followed.

In parallel with her administrative career, Tasha pursued her true passion: mental health counseling. She launched her private practice, Tasha Taylor, LMFT, Therapeutic Counseling Services, PLLC, in 2017. As a licensed therapist, she works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families—helping them navigate life’s most personal and emotional challenges. Her therapeutic methods are diverse and evidence-based, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the Gottman Method, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, among others. Each client receives tailored care rooted in empathy, respect, and a strengths-based philosophy.

Over the past decade, Tasha has become a trusted counselor and advisor, not just for individuals and families but for organizations seeking to improve their internal cultures. She believes that businesses thrive when their people feel seen, heard, and empowered. Her experience in team building, employee engagement, conflict resolution, and communication strategies makes her a vital asset to any organization or board looking to invest in human capital. Her leadership is defined by active listening, inclusive dialogue, and the courage to address difficult conversations with clarity and kindness.

Tasha has also extended her impact through public speaking. She has delivered multiple paid engagements focused on couples therapy, communication, trauma, and team development. Her approachable yet authoritative style connects with diverse audiences, offering both insight and inspiration. These speaking engagements reflect her mission to amplify emotional intelligence in both personal and professional spheres, helping individuals and teams function at their highest potential.

Her commitment to continuous learning and community involvement is evident through her active participation on the Jaguar Land Rover advisory board, as well as her affiliations with mental health and retail industry associations. Tasha remains devoted to the growth of others, whether mentoring new clinicians, advising business leaders, or contributing to boards seeking transformative leadership.

Outside of her professional life, Tasha finds joy in travel, exercise, and long walks—practices that nurture her own mental wellness and keep her grounded. She lives by her personal motto, “Try to do better today than what you did yesterday,” a reflection of her belief in daily growth, intentionality, and progress.

As she looks to expand her impact, Tasha is actively seeking board opportunities where she can leverage her decades of experience to guide organizations toward healthier systems, stronger leadership, and more connected cultures. Her unique combination of HR, therapy, and leadership experience positions her as a dynamic advisor ready to help mission-driven organizations thrive.
