Megan Davidson is a forward-thinking global executive with more than 22 years of experience leading organizations through transformation, growth, operational complexity, and cultural change. Her career has evolved from deep expertise in human capital and organizational effectiveness to enterprise-wide executive leadership encompassing operations, commercial functions, strategy, legal and risk management, government relations, communications, health and safety, and regulatory affairs. This breadth gives Megan a distinctive end-to-end view of business—one grounded in the understanding that sustainable performance requires the alignment of strategy, people, operations, leadership, and culture. Known as a trusted advisor to CEOs and executive teams, she brings clarity to complex environments while building organizations capable of delivering meaningful and lasting results.
Megan most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of Crowley Holdings, Inc., a $3.2 billion logistics, maritime, and energy organization serving the U.S. government as well as major commercial customers, including Fortune 50 companies. In this role, she oversaw P&L performance and led more than 5,000 employees across 36 countries and territories. Her responsibilities extended across commercial and operational functions, government relations, legal and risk, and health, safety, security, and environmental disciplines. The appointment represented a significant progression in Megan’s career, bringing together her extensive experience in organizational leadership with direct responsibility for enterprise operations and financial performance.
As Chief Operating Officer, Megan strengthened the connection between business strategy, organizational capability, and execution. She oversaw development of a data-driven, market-research-based business strategy and roadmap, introducing a more rigorous foundation for enterprise planning and decision-making. She also developed enterprise-wide governance mechanisms, operating rhythms, and performance reporting designed to strengthen accountability, improve decisions, and mitigate risk. Recognizing the importance of organizational agility, Megan led a significant restructuring that moved Crowley from five business units to two divisions, aligning capabilities and creating a more efficient and responsive operating model. Her leadership helped the organization navigate a highly complex geopolitical and commercial environment while maintaining a disciplined focus on performance.
Before becoming COO, Megan served as Crowley’s Chief People and Regulatory Officer and strategic thought partner to the CEO and senior leadership team. She led more than 200 professionals spanning Human Resources, Labor Relations, Marketing, Communications, Legal, Health, Safety, and Sustainability. In addition to developing people strategies supporting culture, performance, and talent development, she worked to transform corporate functions into stronger value-creating partners to the company’s businesses. Megan helped establish a performance-based culture, strengthened leadership development and succession capabilities, and was instrumental in the formation of two joint ventures supporting the organization’s strategic objectives. She also partnered with Crowley’s technology leadership to develop an artificial intelligence strategy focused on data-driven decision-making, customer experience, efficiency, and productivity.
Megan’s leadership foundation was further shaped during more than a decade with bp, where she held increasingly influential positions across the United States and United Kingdom. As Vice President of People & Culture for Transformation, Global Solutions, and Technical Enablers, she partnered with four global senior vice presidents whose organizations encompassed approximately 5,000 employees across 50 countries. During bp’s significant enterprise transformation, Megan helped guide organizational change, workforce strategy, and operating-model redesign. She co-designed bp’s HR business partnering function, contributing to a 30 percent global reduction and transition to a more agile model, while broader organizational centralization initiatives she led were expected to reduce staffing by 23 percent and deliver approximately $100 million in savings.
Earlier, as HR Director for bp’s Whiting Refinery, Megan demonstrated her ability to operate effectively at the intersection of people, operations, labor relations, financial performance, and transformation. She directed and coached a team of more than 30 HR professionals while partnering closely with refinery leadership on business and people strategy. Megan negotiated an agreement with the United Steelworkers that produced an early-retirement program and a 10 percent workforce reduction, with projected savings of $32 million over the three-year contract. She also led organizational design and transformation work across bp’s eight refineries that generated approximately $45 million in savings while supporting the company’s broader transition from a traditional oil company toward a global energy company.
Throughout her career, Megan has developed particular expertise in talent management, succession planning, leadership development, organizational design, performance management, workforce planning, executive compensation, culture transformation, and change leadership. Her professional profile further reflects recognized capabilities in business strategy, business transformation, human capital management, organizational effectiveness, and strategic leadership. Her experience is especially relevant to organizations undergoing transformation, restructuring, leadership transitions, modernization, or significant changes in their operating models. She approaches these challenges not simply as organizational exercises, but as interconnected business decisions requiring consideration of customers, employees, leadership, financial outcomes, risk, and long-term strategic objectives.
Megan’s leadership perspective is distinctly global. Her work has exposed her to business environments throughout Europe, Central America, Africa, Asia, and Australia, and she speaks conversational Spanish in addition to English. Working across countries, cultures, business models, and stakeholder groups has strengthened her ability to appreciate different perspectives while maintaining focus on common organizational objectives. Her international experience complements extensive leadership exposure across transportation, logistics, maritime, energy, and complex operational environments, while her capabilities in transformation and human capital strategy are transferable across manufacturing and other operationally intensive industries.
Her contributions to business and industry have also earned external recognition. Megan was named a 2026 Jacksonville Business Journal Women of Influence recipient and was recognized as one of Marine Log’s Top Women in Maritime in 2023. She has participated in public speaking engagements for the U.S. Maritime Administration, bringing her industry and leadership perspective to audiences beyond the organizations she has directly served. Megan holds an MBA in Human Resources Management from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Economics from Illinois Wesleyan University, combining formal business education with more than two decades of progressively broader leadership experience.
Service and community engagement are also important dimensions of Megan’s leadership philosophy. Her volunteer experience includes serving on the Communications Committee of the National Charity League, mentoring as a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida, and participating in 100+ Women Who Care – The Beaches. These commitments reflect a broader belief that leadership carries responsibility beyond an executive title. Whether developing emerging leaders inside an organization or contributing to her community, Megan values relationships, mentorship, accountability, inclusion, and creating opportunities for others to succeed.
As she enters the next chapter of her career, Megan is actively pursuing opportunities to contribute her experience at the board and advisory level, particularly within transportation, logistics, energy, manufacturing and other operationally intensive businesses, as well as nonprofit organizations. She is especially interested in established middle-market and mid-cap organizations where her combination of enterprise operations, human capital leadership, transformation experience, succession expertise, and global perspective can strengthen governance and long-term value creation. Having worked across three distinct industry environments and led organizations through consequential periods of change, Megan understands both the strategic decisions made at the top of an organization and the operational and human realities required to execute them successfully.
Megan’s value as a board candidate ultimately lies in the breadth of the lens she brings to the table. She understands that strategy cannot be separated from execution, transformation cannot succeed without leadership alignment, and financial performance cannot be sustained without the organizational capabilities and talent required to deliver it. Her progression from human capital leadership to broad enterprise responsibility enables her to contribute meaningfully to conversations involving strategy, operations, succession, executive compensation, organizational risk, culture, workforce transformation, governance, and leadership effectiveness. She seeks to help organizations anticipate what comes next, ask the questions that matter, and build the leadership and organizational foundations required for enduring success.
