    Louis (Lou) Morentin, McIT, CHTS-IS, is a seasoned expert in Governance Risk & Compliance Processes and Methodologies. With a comprehensive background, he drives organizational compliance efforts and aids clients worldwide in meeting regulatory standards. Specializing in crafting policies, risk assessments, breach remediation processes, and more, Lou excels in navigating complexities across various compliance frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS, HIPAA, PCI DSS 3.2, HITRUST, CMMC, ISO 27001, SOC 2, SOX, and Privacy Requirements. Fluent in Spanish, he’s adept at managing internal compliance and supporting clients with tailored solutions to mitigate risks and enhance efficiencies.

    In his current role as VP Compliance and Risk Management at CISO Global, Lou oversees compliance requirements for a cybersecurity firm operating in North and South America. He spearheads integration efforts for acquisitions, managing the company’s growth from inception to over 500 employees. Lou’s expertise extends to roles at ClearDATA, where he developed risk analysis processes and conducted security assessments, and Del Sol & Associates LLC, where he served as a Governance, Risk & Compliance Consultant, advising healthcare startups and medical practices on compliance matters.

    Additionally, Lou’s tenure at Lutrum LLC as a Clinical Application Manager and Compliance Officer showcased his prowess in clinical application support and HIPAA/HITECH compliance. He holds certifications including Management in Clinical Information Technology (McIT) and CHTS-IS through AHIMA, along with completion of Cybersecurity Maturity Model Compliance (CMMC) training mandated by the Department of Defense. Lou remains active in professional associations such as the International Association of Risk and Compliance Professionals (IARCP) and InfraGard, a private-sector partnership with the FBI.
