“Always Learning.”
Abrar Basith is an entrepreneur, business strategist, sales leader, and startup builder whose career reflects more than two decades of continuous reinvention across real estate, technology, capital goods, commodities, digital payments, and consumer ventures. An engineer by education who became deeply immersed in business and economics, Abrar has spent approximately 24 years developing organizations, leading commercial teams, creating new ventures, and helping businesses translate ambitious ideas into executable strategies. His professional philosophy is captured by a simple but powerful personal motto: “Always Learning.” That commitment to curiosity and adaptability has guided his progression from business development and industrial markets to senior real estate leadership, entrepreneurship, FinTech, technology, and innovative consumer experiences.
Abrar began his professional journey after earning a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering and Management from R.V. College of Engineering in Bengaluru. His engineering foundation gave him a structured approach to problem-solving, operations, and analytical decision-making, while his growing fascination with business led him toward commercial leadership. Early in his career, he served as Business Development Manager with Alliance Services, a distributor for Kohler Power Systems, before advancing into increasingly entrepreneurial and executive responsibilities. From 2004 to 2009, he served as Managing Director of Veritas Global, further developing his capabilities in leadership, negotiation, market development, and organizational strategy. During this period, he also served as Joint Secretary of the Consortium of Electronic Industries Karnataka, expanding his exposure to industry collaboration and professional networks.
His leadership trajectory continued as Chief Executive of Cronos Constructions from 2009 to 2014, where his experience increasingly intersected with the real estate and development sectors. He subsequently joined Prestige Group in Bengaluru, taking on senior leadership responsibilities in residential sales. As Senior Deputy General Manager and later Cluster Head for Residential Sales across South Bangalore and Hyderabad, Abrar was entrusted with significant commercial responsibilities and served as Project Sales Head for major developments including Prestige Falcon City and Prestige Bagmane Temple Bells. These experiences strengthened his expertise in strategic sales, market analysis, pricing, negotiation, customer relationships, team leadership, and complex deal execution.
Entrepreneurship has been an equally defining theme throughout Abrar’s career. He has co-founded and developed ventures spanning online monetization, digital payments, hospitality, entertainment, and consumer technology. As Co-Founder of Orcsnet, an Online Royalty Collection Services Network, he helped pursue alternatives to traditional subscriptions and paywalls for digital publishers and content creators. His involvement with IndiTip similarly expanded his entrepreneurial experience in technology-driven businesses. Across these ventures, Abrar has developed an ability to work in environments where established playbooks may not exist—requiring founders to combine commercial judgment, experimentation, relationship building, and disciplined execution.
That entrepreneurial journey has continued through Vlncy, where Abrar serves as Co-Founder and is focused on challenging conventional approaches to online dating. The venture reflects his interest in building technology around meaningful human outcomes rather than simply maximizing digital engagement. His startup experience has given him practical exposure to business strategy, product positioning, customer acquisition, team management, marketing, communications, lead generation, and the realities of taking ideas from concept toward commercialization. Having operated both inside established organizations and at the founder level, he brings an understanding of how strategic decisions translate into day-to-day execution.
Abrar’s creative interests have also shaped a distinctive chapter of his professional career. In 2021, he founded I Know A Guy Productions, an independent events production company focused on imaginative, engaging, and goal-driven experiences. He also co-founded ATSUMARU, an anime- and manga-inspired events and experiences collective. What began with helping a friend solve the practical challenge of low event footfall developed into a broader exploration of creative event management, culminating in the production of a major anime-themed party in India in early 2022. These ventures demonstrate Abrar’s willingness to enter unfamiliar markets, understand audiences, assemble diverse collaborators, and turn unconventional concepts into tangible experiences.
His advisory perspective is strengthened by hands-on experience with organizational transformation. Abrar has consulted with a company valued at approximately $15 million, supporting areas including change management, marketing strategy, sales, public relations, communications, and online payments. This multidisciplinary work reflects the breadth he brings to executive and boardroom conversations. Rather than viewing sales, marketing, operations, communications, technology, and strategy as isolated functions, he approaches them as interconnected elements of enterprise growth. His core capabilities encompass entrepreneurship, business development, strategic planning, negotiation, marketing, sales leadership, competitive analysis, startup development, pricing strategy, corporate communications, contract negotiation, and cross-functional team leadership.
Abrar’s career has also given him meaningful international exposure, including experience and connections across Europe, the Middle East, and Singapore. He speaks English and Hindi with full professional proficiency and Kannada with professional working proficiency, complementing his ability to communicate across diverse professional and cultural settings. He is comfortable with public speaking and has participated in speaking engagements, bringing to those settings the same combination of commercial experience, entrepreneurial thinking, and practical storytelling that characterizes his leadership style.
Beyond commercial success, Abrar has demonstrated a willingness to contribute his time and capabilities to the broader community. His volunteer service with the East Zone BBMP COVID War Room involved contacting COVID-positive patients in home isolation, verifying critical information, providing guidance, assessing living conditions, and helping identify individuals who might require transfer to dedicated care facilities. The work demanded empathy, clear communication, sound judgment, and composure during an extraordinarily difficult period. Earlier in his career, his analytical abilities were also recognized academically when his final-year engineering project, focused on the strategic location of ATMs using operations research, received the Most Innovative Project award from R.V. College of Engineering’s Department of Industrial Engineering and Management.
Personally, Abrar’s interests reflect the same curiosity and range visible throughout his professional life. He is an art collector, traveler, music enthusiast, and DJ, pursuits that complement his appreciation for creativity, culture, and new experiences. His career has rarely followed a narrow path; instead, he has consistently moved toward opportunities where he can learn, build, connect people, and solve meaningful commercial problems. This combination of analytical training, commercial leadership, entrepreneurship, creativity, and cultural curiosity gives him a perspective that can be particularly valuable to organizations navigating growth or transformation.
After approximately 24 years of professional experience, Abrar is pursuing board and advisory opportunities as a natural extension of his career. He believes the lessons accumulated through corporate leadership, startups, real estate, technology, sales, marketing, and business building can now be shared with organizations facing their own pivotal stages of development. He is particularly interested in contributing to companies within real estate, technology, and manufacturing, with a strong affinity for startups and businesses seeking to establish scalable foundations for growth. His objective is not simply to observe from the boardroom, but to contribute informed perspective, challenge assumptions constructively, and help leadership teams transform strategic possibilities into practical action.
For Abrar, board service represents an opportunity to bring together the many dimensions of his career: the engineer’s analytical discipline, the executive’s commercial judgment, the entrepreneur’s tolerance for uncertainty, the marketer’s understanding of audiences, and the strategist’s focus on long-term value creation. His professional story demonstrates a recurring willingness to learn new industries, build relationships, lead through change, and pursue ideas beyond conventional boundaries. Guided by “Always Learning,” Abrar approaches the next stage of his career with the belief that experience creates its greatest value when it is shared—and that strong leadership requires both the confidence to contribute and the curiosity to continue learning.
