Steve J. Roesner is an accomplished executive with over four decades of leadership experience across various industries, including manufacturing, plastics, advanced composites, and traffic equipment & services. He holds a B.A. in Business Economics from Northwestern College and an M.B.A. from the University of South Dakota, where he earned membership in the prestigious Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.
Roesner’s early career spanned from 1983 to 1997 at K-Products, Inc./American Identity, where he progressed from Marketing and Product Development to General Manager and Director of Tele-Direct SBU. Under his leadership, the company saw remarkable sales growth from $22 million to $85 million, including product line expansions and business acquisitions that shaped its future. Roesner’s strategic foresight also led to the successful launch of a sports licensing division that secured major licenses from MLB, NFL, NCAA, and NHL, which in three short years sold for $15.3 million. Roesner was a member of the acquisition integration team when American Identity successfully acquired K-Products Inc.
From 1997 to 2005, as Director of Operations and COO at Den Hartog Industries, Roesner led a transformational period of family ownership from founder to 2nd generation leadership, as well as, growth, doubling sales to $48 million and spearheading initiatives such as ERP implementation, robotic manufacturing and national sales expansion. He also played a crucial role in building the company’s strategic business units and governance structure.
In 2005, Roesner joined the ‘greenfield’ start-up company, Quatro Composites as CEO, President, and managing minority partner, where he grew the company’s sales from under $1 million to $52 million by 2017. He directed market and product expansions, established a research center in California, oversaw the development and commercialization of breakthrough composite processing technology and guided the company through a successful acquisition by Liberty Hall and Aim Aerospace in 2017.
From 2017 to 2018, as President of Quatro Composites and Senior VP of Corporate Strategy at AIM Aerospace, Roesner developed a five-year strategic business plan that helped successfully integrating the two organizations reaching $174 million in sales.
Since 2018, Steve Roesner has served as CEO of Vogel Traffic Services. Under his leadership, the company has seen substantial growth, with sales increasing from $14 million to a projected $42 million by 2024. His leadership has driven improvements in earnings and product line expansions, and he played a pivotal role in acquiring Arrow Striping & Manufacturing. He is also leading the transition of company ownership and leadership from the 3rd generation to 4th generation.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Roesner has been actively involved in community leadership and development roles, including 21 years on the City Council, the Orange City Economic Development Board, and various business development boards for Iowa State University and Northwestern College. He enjoys golfing, skiing, traveling, and spending time with his family, which includes his wife, Laurie, two children, and six grandchildren.
