“People Don’t Care How Much You Know, Until They Know How Much You Care.”
Shawn Jones is a dynamic sales, operations, and commercial leadership executive whose career has been defined by the ability to connect strategy with execution, strengthen customer relationships, and build teams capable of delivering measurable business results. With approximately 30 years of professional experience across consumer packaged goods, retail, sales operations, project management, and customer-facing leadership, Shawn has developed a rare perspective that spans both the retailer and supplier sides of the commercial ecosystem. His career includes leadership roles with Procter & Gamble, The Hillman Group, and Walmart Stores Inc., giving him firsthand experience operating inside some of the world’s most recognized consumer and retail organizations.
Today, Shawn serves as North America Trade Standards & Regulatory Solutions Leader at Procter & Gamble, where he is responsible for regulatory standards across P&G business units and evaluates GTIN exception requests as a subject matter expert. In this role, he has helped bring greater visibility and discipline to regulatory performance by launching a new dashboard that has supported results above 90 percent. His responsibilities also connect to more than $1 billion in net outside sales activation and savings opportunities, requiring him to work directly with business-unit leaders, evaluate complex commercial issues, and translate standards and regulatory requirements into practical business decisions.
Shawn’s current position represents the latest chapter in a broader progression of leadership assignments at Procter & Gamble. As Commercial Operations Leader for P&G Oral Care North America, he oversaw network planning supporting approximately $4 billion in annual sales while managing a direct budget of $1.5 million. He guided strategic communications, facilitated national sales-meeting execution, and led recurring network and team meetings designed to align customer teams around priorities, decisions, and execution. Earlier, as a Sales Director and Team Leader, he held P&L and customer relationship responsibility across P&G categories while leading senior account executives, earning recognition as a Top 10% Director and receiving a long-term incentive award for exceptional performance.
His P&G tenure has also included regional sales operations leadership across 20 states and relationships with major retailers including Walmart, Target, and Sam’s Club. Drawing on his extensive retail background, Shawn worked across organizational boundaries to improve operational partnerships, reduce friction, and create stronger execution for important product categories. That ability to understand what matters to retailers while simultaneously advancing supplier objectives has become one of the defining strengths of his executive profile. He brings both sides of the commercial relationship into the same strategic conversation, helping organizations identify solutions that create sustainable value rather than short-term wins.
Before joining Procter & Gamble, Shawn spent five years with The Hillman Group as Sales Director for National and Regional Accounts in North America. He led a team responsible for sales and account management across numerous retail channels and developed relationships with major organizations including Menards, Meijer, Kroger, Dollar General, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, CVS, Advance Auto, AutoZone, NAPA, and others. His experience in hardware and consumer goods distribution further expanded his knowledge of merchandising, national account strategy, negotiations, forecasting, inventory, customer satisfaction, and B2B relationship management. It also reinforced his reputation as a leader who can balance commercial objectives with long-term customer partnerships.
The foundation of Shawn’s career was built during more than 15 years with Walmart Stores Inc., where he advanced through progressively larger leadership roles spanning store operations, district and regional management, corporate giving, project management, and leasing operations. As Director of Leasing Operations for the United States and Puerto Rico, he led a team responsible for branded food, banking, and consumer-service programs that generated more than $415 million in annual operating income. As a Senior Manager in Walmart’s Project Management Office, he provided leadership for scalable merchandising initiatives across North America, improving visibility, coordination, and stakeholder accountability around major programs.
Earlier operational assignments demonstrated Shawn’s ability to improve performance at significant scale. As a Regional Manager, he oversaw approximately 90 stores representing $508 million in combined sales and led his region to the company’s top position for profit growth among 16 regions. He exceeded prior-year profit performance by more than two percent and was recognized with a Top 10% Regional Manager Award. In a district pharmacy leadership role, he managed a 16-store market producing approximately $85 million in sales and $3.4 million in profit while driving a 22.3 percent increase in comparable sales and a 76 percent increase in prescriptions. These results were not achieved through metrics alone; Shawn has consistently emphasized listening, teaching, developing people, and empowering teams to use organizational resources effectively.
His experience also extends internationally. Shawn participated in Walmart’s Germany operations as an expatriate responsible for training and development and later supported the integration of Puerto Rico leasing operations with the U.S. organization. His international exposure broadened his understanding of cultural adaptability, organizational integration, and the importance of clear communication across markets. He speaks intermediate Spanish and has continued developing his language capabilities as part of a broader commitment to lifelong learning.
Shawn’s leadership development is supported by a strong academic and professional foundation. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Management from the State University of New York College at Brockport, where he minored in Economics and served as a two-year basketball captain, and later completed a bachelor’s degree in Marketing at Nazareth College while pursuing graduate coursework in educational administration. He is also Lean Six Sigma Green Belt trained and has completed executive development, strategic leadership, Dale Carnegie, and other professional development programs. His history as a two-sport collegiate athlete and All-American basketball player reflects many of the qualities that continue to shape his executive approach: discipline, preparation, resilience, teamwork, and competitive focus.
Recognition throughout Shawn’s career further illustrates the consistency of his performance. In addition to receiving Top 10% leadership recognition at both Procter & Gamble and Walmart, he earned P&G’s Sales Readiness recognition, achieved Walmart’s Regional Manager One Percent Club Award six times, and received an expatriate award for his work supporting Walmart’s Germany transition. His expertise encompasses P&L management, sales operations, strategic planning, project management, contract negotiation, customer relationship management, merchandising, inventory management, forecasting, team building, change management, supply chain, and cross-functional leadership.
Beyond his corporate accomplishments, Shawn has demonstrated a commitment to community involvement and service. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association, participating in community events, fundraising, CPR education, and public speaking focused on heart-health awareness. He has also volunteered with the Freestore Foodbank in Cincinnati. Comfortable in front of audiences and open to additional speaking engagements, Shawn brings an approachable communication style grounded in practical experience, credibility, and an ability to connect organizational objectives with the people responsible for achieving them.
As Shawn considers board and advisory opportunities, he offers organizations a combination of enterprise-scale experience, commercial judgment, operational discipline, customer insight, and people-centered leadership. He is particularly well suited to consumer packaged goods, retail, and adjacent industries, while remaining open to organizations of different sizes and stages. His mission is to create business value by aligning strategy, operations, and customer relationships while empowering teams to solve complex problems, exceed performance goals, and create lasting results. Whether advising executives, evaluating growth opportunities, strengthening governance conversations, or helping teams navigate operational complexity, Shawn brings the perspective of a leader who has spent decades turning strategy into execution inside demanding, high-performance environments.
At the center of Shawn’s philosophy is a belief that leadership begins with genuine investment in people. His personal motto, “People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care,” captures an approach evident throughout his career—from developing associates and leading large operational teams to managing strategic customer relationships and serving his community. Outside of work, he values continuous learning, family, travel, and golf, interests that reinforce his curiosity, commitment to relationships, and appreciation for lifelong growth.
