Rodney D. Kelley is a technology executive and real estate operator with more than 40 years of experience across telecommunications, enterprise software, cybersecurity, and multifamily real estate. He is the founder of Shekel Properties, through which he invests in multifamily real estate, and a general partner in multiple multifamily syndications.
Kelley spent 14 years with ClickFox and its successor, BryterCX, rising from senior technical program management to President. As the company’s first corporate release manager, he increased successful deployments 340% in his first year while reducing support cases by 75%, and later built a 14-member quality assurance organization. His remit grew to include procurement, governance, risk, compliance, and information security, and he led the organization through an intellectual property acquisition and client transition as President. Earlier, he held engineering and leadership roles with USWest, Level 3 Communications, and Alcatel-Lucent.
In real estate, Kelley has invested since 1996 and now focuses full-time on multifamily value-add. Since 2016 he has managed 550+ rental units, overseeing $50MM+ in assets under management and deploying $6.4MM in capital improvements over the past two years — with no loan defaults, missed payments, or lender losses across sponsored and managed assets.
Kelley holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, a foundation that shaped his operator’s approach to leadership: define the objective, build accountable teams, and measure execution. He has served on multiple church and school boards and led as Training Sergeant and Co-Captain with Jeffco Mounted Search & Rescue. He brings to the boardroom seasoned judgment in risk management, capital stewardship, and turning strategy into measurable results.
