Robert Myers is a seasoned financial executive whose career spans more than four decades of helping manufacturing and industrial organizations strengthen profitability, improve operational performance, and create sustainable long-term value. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), Robert has consistently served as a trusted advisor to executive leadership teams, private equity investors, and business owners by providing disciplined financial oversight combined with practical business strategy. His career has been defined by an ability to see beyond financial statements, identifying opportunities that improve organizational performance while building stronger companies from the inside out.

Throughout his professional journey, Robert has held executive leadership positions including Vice President of Finance, Group Financial Controller, Controller, Interim Chief Financial Officer, and Senior Advisor of Finance & Business Systems. His leadership experience spans organizations ranging from approximately $30 million to over $500 million in annual revenue, with significant expertise supporting privately held, family-owned, and private equity-backed manufacturing companies. His work has consistently focused on transforming finance organizations into strategic business partners that drive informed decision-making across every level of an enterprise.

Robert’s expertise extends well beyond traditional accounting and financial reporting. He has successfully led strategic planning initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, post-acquisition integration, financial modeling, capital planning, enterprise risk management, internal controls, ERP implementation, banking relationships, and operational process improvements. His ability to integrate financial strategy with operational execution enables organizations to improve profitability while creating scalable systems that support future growth. Throughout his career, he has become known for translating complex financial information into clear, actionable business strategies that executives and boards can confidently act upon.

Most recently, Robert served as Senior Advisor of Finance & Business Systems for Aero Industries, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. In this role, he collaborated with executive leadership to improve financial systems, business processes, strategic planning, and operational performance while supporting major transformation initiatives. He led cross-functional teams, developed comprehensive margin analysis processes, supported mergers and acquisitions, strengthened long-term financial planning, and mentored financial leadership across the organization. Prior to that role, as Vice President of Finance, he directed all finance, accounting, and information technology functions while implementing enhanced profitability reporting, improving cybersecurity standards, strengthening pricing models, and identifying company-wide cost-saving opportunities that improved overall financial performance.

Earlier in his career, Robert played an instrumental role in several highly successful manufacturing organizations. As Vice President of Finance for Applied Composites Engineering, he helped guide the successful transition of the aerospace manufacturer through its sale to a private equity firm. During his tenure, he streamlined accounting operations, facilitated financial due diligence, executed integration planning, implemented robust costing systems, reduced accounts receivable by 25 percent, and helped the company achieve record profitability. His ability to balance operational priorities with investor expectations made him an invaluable leader during periods of organizational change and growth.

Robert’s leadership reached an even broader scale during his time with Citation Corporation, where he ultimately became Group Controller for the company’s $500 million Automotive Group. Responsible for financial oversight across seven manufacturing facilities, he managed twenty-one accounting professionals while overseeing budgeting, forecasting, consolidations, capital investments, mergers and acquisitions, standard costing, GAAP compliance, and internal controls. Working closely with senior leadership, he helped modernize forecasting processes, strengthen accountability metrics, redesign costing methodologies, and support strategic initiatives that improved competitiveness during one of the automotive industry’s most challenging economic periods. His leadership also included evaluating acquisition opportunities, leading consolidation initiatives, and improving working capital through stronger inventory and receivables management.

One of Robert’s greatest strengths has been his ability to transform underperforming organizations into financially healthy enterprises. While serving as Controller for Ward Industries, he was recruited to help stabilize a struggling three-plant manufacturing operation. By implementing comprehensive budgeting systems, financial controls, inventory management processes, scheduling improvements, and lender negotiations, he successfully reduced inventory by 35 percent, negotiated forgiveness of one-third of the company’s outstanding bank debt, and positioned the business for future expansion. Throughout numerous leadership roles, Robert has repeatedly demonstrated that disciplined financial leadership combined with operational excellence can fundamentally change the trajectory of a business.

Robert’s early career in public accounting provided the technical foundation that continues to distinguish his executive leadership today. Working with manufacturing, retail, and automotive clients, he developed expertise in auditing, tax strategy, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance while advising business owners on strategies that maximized cash flow and profitability. His expertise in tax strategy even resulted in recognition by USA Today, further reinforcing his reputation as a respected financial advisor. Combined with his experience as a Registered Investment Advisor, Robert brings boards an exceptional level of fiduciary discipline, governance awareness, and long-term financial stewardship.

Internationally, Robert has collaborated with organizations operating across Canada and Mexico while working for a French-owned company, giving him valuable experience supporting multinational business environments. Although manufacturing has been the cornerstone of his career, his expertise in finance, governance, acquisitions, and strategic planning allows him to contribute effectively across a broad range of industries. He is particularly interested in serving privately held and private equity-backed companies with annual revenues between approximately $50 million and $1 billion, where his combination of financial oversight, operational insight, and executive leadership can have the greatest impact.

Now retired from full-time executive leadership, Robert is actively seeking corporate board opportunities that allow him to continue contributing his extensive experience while mentoring executive teams and helping organizations navigate growth, acquisitions, operational improvement, and governance challenges. His unique ability to understand both the financial details and the broader strategic picture enables him to identify opportunities others often overlook. Robert believes the role of a board member extends beyond oversight—it is about helping leadership build stronger organizations that create lasting value for employees, customers, investors, and stakeholders alike. Guided by integrity, accountability, strategic thinking, and operational excellence, he remains passionate about helping businesses achieve sustainable success.
