    Published on:

Rebecca Edelman is a visionary executive, strategist, and founder with more than two decades of experience leading high-impact initiatives across finance, education, and workforce development. With a deep-rooted commitment to driving meaningful change, Rebecca has consistently brought clarity, operational excellence, and strategic foresight to complex organizations, helping them thrive through innovation, transformation, and purpose-driven leadership.

Rebecca currently serves as the founder and chief executive officer of Caper Associates LLC, an education venture she launched to address the growing gap between traditional learning and workforce readiness. Caper delivers affordable, modular programming designed for students and early-career professionals (ages 14+), equipping them with real-world skills essential for employment and civic leadership. Through her visionary leadership, Rebecca developed a cutting-edge, skills-based curriculum rooted in practical application—providing learners with both immediate value and long-term personal and professional growth. Her work at Caper is a natural extension of her lifelong passion for education, equity, and economic mobility.

Before founding Caper, Rebecca served as a consultant with Dale Carnegie, the global leader in workplace training and soft-skills development. There, she led an in-depth market analysis across ten financial services units, developing a strategic growth plan centered around a four-pillar value proposition. Her work successfully aligned organizational capabilities with client needs, demonstrating her ability to connect macroeconomic insight with human capital strategy.

Rebecca’s corporate leadership foundation was built over a distinguished 11-year tenure at Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, where she served as chief operating officer for Leveraged Credit Trading, Structured Financing, and Equities Research. In this role, she oversaw a $440M+ net revenue business and led a team of six through periods of market volatility, acquisition, and regulatory reform. She successfully navigated the firm’s market exit, managing the divestiture of operations across 2,800 companies and leading the redeployment of over 570 employees—demonstrating an unparalleled ability to manage complex transitions with stability, empathy, and rigor.

Prior to Credit Suisse, Rebecca held senior roles at HSBC Securities (USA), Inc., where she was responsible for the global unwind of structured credit products in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis. Her leadership during this turbulent period further cemented her reputation as a steady hand in high-stakes environments.

A lifelong advocate for the power of public-private partnership, Rebecca also served as an adjunct assistant professor at NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, where she created and taught a course focused on strategic partnerships between corporations and nonprofits. Her ability to bridge sectors and disciplines has made her a sought-after advisor and mentor.

Rebecca holds a master of public administration in finance from New York University’s Wagner School and dual bachelor’s degrees in policy studies and journalism from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs and S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication, respectively.

In addition to her professional work, Rebecca is deeply engaged in philanthropic efforts, raising funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the National Organization of Rare Diseases. She brings the same drive for impact and compassion to her community as she does to the boardroom.

Rebecca Edelman is actively seeking board opportunities where she can contribute her extensive expertise in strategic growth, organizational change, financial oversight, and education innovation. She is especially passionate about mission-aligned companies and initiatives that support economic advancement, learning equity, and long-term workforce transformation.

Character: Rebecca demonstrates integrity, resilience, and a deep commitment to driving meaningful, mission-aligned impact in every endeavor.

Knowledge: She brings over 20 years of expertise spanning finance, education, operations, and workforce development, with a strong foundation in both corporate and entrepreneurial settings.
