“Doing Exceptional Work in Service of Those Who Lead with Integrity.”
Phillip Kolb is a seasoned advisor and executive coach with nearly two decades of experience in financial services and over 20 years guiding leaders, teams, and business owners through growth, transition, and transformation. His personal motto—“To do good work for good people”—isn’t just a slogan; it’s how he approaches every relationship and project.
After graduating from Cornell University with a degree in Economics and Management, Phillip began his career in financial services and consulting, building a strong foundation at firms like IBM and Ameriprise. These early roles shaped his analytical thinking and deepened his passion for helping others succeed.
He spent nearly eight years at CUSO Financial Services, where he led advisor development efforts and coached teams to drive tangible results. Before that, he was with LPL Financial for three years, supporting advisors and institutions through complex challenges and earning a reputation as a calm, strategic partner.
Throughout his career, coaching has been a constant. Whether supporting internal teams, clients, or acquisition partners, Phillip has empowered others to lead with confidence and clarity. His financial services journey also included holding FINRA Series 7, 66, and 24 licenses, which he relinquished upon deciding to pursue mergers and acquisitions full time and step away from the Broker-Dealer space.
In 2015, Phillip co-founded CupLux Coffee with his brother and father, bringing a new cold brew concept to life. Far from a late-stage leap into entrepreneurship, this was a ground-up initiative—an opportunity to lead creatively and grow a brand in a competitive, customer-driven market.
Today, Phillip serves as a Senior Broker at NewLeaf Brokerage, where he advises business owners on buying and selling companies. He brings a steady hand, people-first mindset, and deep experience to every transaction—ensuring outcomes that feel right, not just on paper but in practice.
An accomplished speaker, Phillip has shared insights at conferences, workshops, and boardrooms nationwide. In May 2025, he was a featured speaker at the Exit Planning Summit, where he addressed a national audience of top-tier professionals—sharing strategies, sparking conversations, and doing what he loves most: connecting with others passionate about growth and leadership.
Outside of work, Phillip gives back through nonprofit and community service. He’s supported Trees Charlotte since 2015, contributes to local animal rescues, and brings a global perspective from his advisory work with international education clients in Asia.
While his career spans finance, consulting, coaching, and entrepreneurship, Phillip is known above all for his empathy, clarity, and leadership. When he’s not working, you’ll likely find him hiking, playing hockey, or tending to his beehives—because balance and curiosity matter, too.
