Known for her resolute commitment to quality, Monica has served as a cornerstone of manufacturing innovation and performance enhancement across diverse sectors including automotive, aerospace, molding, and assembly. Her career reflects not just a mastery of systems and processes, but a deep-rooted passion for elevating organizations through structured change and purposeful leadership.
At the heart of Monica’s career is her ability to lead with clarity and influence at both the plant and corporate levels. Her extensive background in Quality Assurance—sharpened across a wide range of technical and leadership roles—has allowed her to build, refine, and standardize processes that have shaped enterprise-wide impact. From her early beginnings as a Quality Technician at Walbro to ascending as Global Quality Director for the same company, Monica has developed a reputation for bridging tactical execution with strategic foresight.
Currently serving as the founder and lead consultant at QAVA Consulting LLC, Monica empowers clients through customized consulting, coaching, and training services. She partners with companies to optimize operations and quality systems, often navigating high-stakes environments that require rapid problem-solving and structured execution. Her client engagements have included transformative consulting projects with aerospace suppliers, where she helped redesign delivery systems, elevate quality standards, and boost overall operational performance.
Prior to her consulting practice, Monica held prominent leadership roles, including her tenure as Global Quality Director at Walbro LLC. There, she oversaw quality systems across blow molding and small engine assembly operations, with a global reach encompassing Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Under her leadership, Monica steered multiple facilities through rigorous certification processes for Quality, Environmental, and Safety standards. She also co-managed the successful VDA 6.3 certification for a major manufacturing plant in Mexico serving Volkswagen.
Monica’s most impactful tenure may well have been her 25+ year journey at TI Automotive, where she rose through the ranks from technician to Corporate Quality Engineering Specialist. During this time, she led strategic programs including the transfer of an entire production facility in Brazil, coordinated quality improvement initiatives across multiple continents, and directed a multitude of Six Sigma projects. Her work enabled measurable reductions in cost of poor quality (COPQ) and significant advances in change management and process efficiency.
Monica’s intellectual capital is not confined to execution alone; she is a gifted educator and mentor who has developed and delivered robust training programs across the globe. She has certified over 160 Green Belts across North and South America, overseen more than 36 Six Sigma projects to closure, and provided essential training in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and more. Her instructional reach has extended to suppliers, customers, engineers, and operational staff, reflecting her inclusive and cross-functional leadership style.
An authority in Lean Six Sigma, Monica holds a Master Black Belt from both Ohio State University and MoreSteam University. Her credentials also include certifications from ASQ as a Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Black Belt training via Sigma Services, and a strong academic foundation from Delta College. Her pursuit of continuous learning includes an impressive array of specialized training—from Ford TOPPS and Shainin methods to conflict resolution and advanced statistics—all of which enrich her ability to lead multifaceted teams.
Monica’s leadership extends beyond the boardroom. She is a business owner, having successfully run Thumb Meat Market, and is deeply involved in community initiatives such as the Caro Chamber of Commerce, Caro Moose Lodge, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Her love of team sports has translated into a lifelong commitment to mentorship and collaboration, once serving as President of the Caro Winter Fest Pro Snowmobile Races and Cars and Crafts Events. These engagements exemplify her value system: grounded in service, community, and resilience.
Internationally, Monica has driven initiatives across more than 100 countries, collaborating with teams in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.
