As President and Chief Executive Officer of Georgia Emergency Department Services (GEDS), Mohak has overseen one of the most impressive periods of growth in the organization’s history. Since assuming leadership in 2017, he has guided the physician-owned emergency medicine group from serving approximately 100,000 emergency department visits annually at a single hospital to an organization projected to care for more than 370,000 patients annually across nine emergency departments in two states. During this same period, annual revenue expanded from approximately $16 million to more than $65 million while preserving the group’s physician-led governance model and strengthening its reputation as the largest independent democratic emergency medicine practice in Georgia. His leadership has proven that disciplined growth can coexist with an unwavering commitment to quality, culture, and physician independence.

He believes that organizational success begins with creating an environment where physicians, advanced practice providers, administrators, and support teams are empowered to perform at their highest level. Under his direction, Georgia Emergency Department Services implemented a comprehensive organizational restructuring, modernized governance practices, converted providers from independent contractor status to W-2 employment, and established robust internal quality assurance and accountability systems. His relentless focus on culture has resulted in exceptional physician retention, high employee engagement, and an organizational identity centered on collaboration, trust, and continuous improvement.
Innovation has become a defining characteristic of Mohak’s executive career. He has successfully led the creation of an Emergency Medicine Residency Program while expanding multiple specialty service lines, including emergency observation medicine, pediatric emergency medicine, emergency ultrasound, and hospitalist medicine. Simultaneously, as Medical Director and Physician Advisor for Zotec Partners, he provides strategic revenue cycle guidance to physician groups representing more than nine million emergency department visits each year. His expertise in physician documentation, reimbursement optimization, artificial intelligence integration, and regulatory compliance has helped practices improve financial performance while maintaining clinical integrity. His educational initiatives regarding documentation guideline changes produced measurable improvements in physician productivity across numerous client organizations.
Mohak continues to remain actively engaged in clinical medicine as Chief of Emergency Services for Northeast Georgia Health System, where he has served in multiple leadership roles for nearly two decades. He has standardized emergency care delivery across a diverse health system that includes a Level I Trauma Center and multiple community hospitals, consistently producing some of Georgia’s strongest operational metrics. Under his leadership, the organization has achieved outstanding patient satisfaction scores while maintaining exceptionally low rates of patients leaving without being seen. His responsibilities also include serving as EMS Medical Director for fourteen Georgia counties, where he has helped standardize trauma, stroke, and cardiac care protocols to improve regional emergency response and patient outcomes.
Beyond executive leadership, Mohak has earned widespread respect as a trusted governance leader. He recently completed a distinguished nine-year term on the Board of Trustees for Northeast Georgia Health System, providing oversight for a healthcare organization exceeding $2.5 billion in annual operations. He also served on the Board of Trustees for Lakeview Academy, an independent college preparatory school, and currently contributes as a member of the Zotec Partners Advisory Board. These experiences have strengthened his expertise in fiduciary oversight, strategic planning, executive succession, organizational governance, financial stewardship, and long-term institutional sustainability. His educational journey began at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Political Science and Chemistry, followed by his Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, where he served as Class President. He completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at the Cleveland Clinic and was selected as Chief Resident, further establishing his passion for leadership early in his medical career.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mohak values maintaining balance through water sports, wake surfing, physical fitness, and quality time with family and friends.
