“Deeds, Not Words.”
Kara Reagan is an entrepreneur, AI visibility strategist, marketing leader, and advisor whose career has been defined by an ability to recognize how technology is changing the relationship between organizations and the people they serve. With more than 15 years of professional experience spanning artificial intelligence, digital marketing, brand management, content strategy, client services, sales, financial services, publishing, and entrepreneurship, Kara brings a multidisciplinary perspective to leadership. Today, as Founder of Gold Light Digital Consulting, she focuses on one of the most consequential emerging challenges for modern organizations: understanding and managing how artificial intelligence platforms represent their brands, products, expertise, and credibility.
At Gold Light Digital, Kara has evolved from a digital marketing and SEO consultant into an AI Visibility Strategist, applying years of experience in search, content, reputation, and brand positioning to the rapidly developing world of conversational AI. Her work is particularly focused on regulated industries, including HealthTech, MedTech, Pharma, Medical Aesthetics, Nutraceuticals, and FinTech. She advises organizations on how platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and other AI systems interpret and communicate information about their businesses. Her approach goes beyond conventional marketing visibility: she examines accuracy, authority, consistency, credibility, competitive positioning, and potential compliance risks to help organizations better understand the narratives AI systems are creating about them.
Kara has developed a structured methodology around this work, including her Four Pillars framework of Accuracy, Authority, Consistency, and Credibility Signals. She has conducted AI visibility audits that examine how brands surface across numerous conversational queries and has developed methodologies designed for organizations operating under heightened regulatory scrutiny. Her projects include an AI Brand Visibility Audit for a dermal filler brand, during which she assessed brand representation across five major AI platforms and identified opportunities involving expert authority, competitive positioning, structured data, and entity relationships. She also developed an AI Compliance Monitor designed to give compliance, legal, and marketing teams a shared mechanism for documenting and evaluating what major AI platforms are saying about their organizations.
Her expertise in artificial intelligence is strengthened by a substantial foundation in digital marketing, SEO, content development, advertising, and online reputation management. Kara spent years creating SEO and SEM strategies, overseeing digital advertising campaigns, conducting audience research and segmentation, developing and testing advertising and landing-page concepts, writing website and email content, optimizing metadata, analyzing campaign performance, and managing client relationships. This combination of technical marketing knowledge and strategic communication has enabled her to translate established search and brand principles into AI-native visibility strategies. Her professional skills also encompass social media marketing, strategic planning, data analysis, SaaS, customer experience, public speaking, training, and marketing communications.
Kara’s career progression reflects an enduring emphasis on relationships, service, and execution. As Director of Sales and Client Services at Magnolia Wellness Center, she worked at the intersection of customer success, sales, and technology, helping establish B2B SaaS accounts for doctors and clients while driving adoption, strengthening customer satisfaction, supporting renewals, and serving as an internal advocate for client needs. Earlier, as a Marketing Business Analyst with MassMutual Financial Group, she supported high-performing financial advisors, conducted research and analysis, prepared business materials, assisted sales and marketing initiatives, and managed projects requiring accuracy and adherence to demanding deadlines. These experiences broadened her understanding of both customer-facing leadership and the disciplined operational environments in which businesses must perform.
Her earlier career in publishing and events established many of the communication and organizational capabilities that continue to influence her leadership today. At The Winery SF, Kara managed private events for groups of up to 1,200 people, coordinating clients, vendors, logistics, rentals, operations, and financial details. Before that, during her progression from Office Assistant to Advertising Associate and ultimately Advertising Services Manager at String Letter Publishing, she developed client relationships, supported marketing campaigns, wrote promotional communications, managed databases and buyer guides, coordinated trade-show participation, and planned major company events. That progression illustrates a recurring theme throughout Kara’s career: a willingness to master the details of a business before assuming broader strategic and leadership responsibilities.
As the founder of her own consulting practice, Kara has increasingly directed that experience toward the emerging intersection of AI, brand reputation, and organizational strategy. She is the author of Cited by AI, a practical guide focused on helping brands become more accurately represented, cited, and recommended across AI platforms. Her work reflects a central conviction that conversational AI is becoming an important layer of discovery and reputation management. Rather than treating AI visibility as simply another marketing channel, she approaches it as an organizational issue that can involve marketing, communications, legal, compliance, executive leadership, and customer trust.
Kara has continued investing in her technical and strategic fluency as the AI ecosystem develops. Her professional development includes Anthropic certificates in Claude Cowork and Claude 101, AI training through micro1, an AI Consultant certification through Stack, coursework in Generative Engine Optimization, and training in generative AI. She has also completed professional development related to Agile methodologies, complementing her experience in strategic planning, project execution, and cross-functional collaboration. Her educational foundation is a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Arizona, a background that reinforces the writing, communication, and narrative skills that have remained central throughout her career.
Beyond her executive and consulting responsibilities, Kara has experience with advisory and governance-oriented work. She serves as an advisor with Stack AI and has previously contributed as a board member for a law school scholarship fund. She is now intentionally expanding her involvement in advisory and board service, viewing this stage of her career as an opportunity to apply her experience to organizations navigating growth, innovation, reputation, and technological change. She is particularly passionate about helping leadership teams understand the possibilities surrounding AI visibility while bringing a broader business perspective informed by entrepreneurship, customer relationships, marketing strategy, and organizational execution.
Kara also brings a global perspective to her professional work and has participated in both in-person speaking engagements and webinars. Public speaking and communication are established elements of her professional skill set, complementing her ability to translate complex or emerging concepts into practical business language. Whether addressing an executive team, advising a client, educating an audience, or evaluating how an AI platform describes a company, she operates at the intersection of information and action—helping stakeholders understand not only what is happening, but why it matters and what can be done about it.
Underlying Kara’s career is the personal motto, “Deeds, Not Words.” It captures an action-oriented philosophy visible throughout her progression from publishing, events, and financial services to SaaS client leadership, entrepreneurship, digital strategy, and artificial intelligence. Away from her professional responsibilities, she enjoys live music, sporting events, and tennis. As she continues expanding her advisory and board contributions, Kara brings a combination of curiosity about emerging technology, respect for execution, commitment to communication, and enthusiasm for helping organizations advance.
