Jeff A. VanBuskirk is a highly accomplished executive with over 35 years of progressive leadership experience in the automotive and manufacturing sectors. Throughout his career, Jeff has held multiple leadership roles culminating in his position as Vice President of Systems Development and Engineering at Autoneum North America Inc., a global leader in automotive acoustical and thermal management solutions. In this role, Jeff managed multidisciplinary teams of 50–75 professionals across North America, overseeing new product development, system integration, engineering design, testing, and validation. His leadership spanned operations in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, with oversight of annual budgets of up to $10 million. Under his guidance, Autoneum successfully launched innovative solutions for major automotive OEMs including General Motors, Ford, Stellantis, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Toyota, Tesla, Honda, and Lucid.

Jeff’s technical foundation was built at Michigan Technological University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus on signal processing, acoustics, and noise control. He further advanced his expertise with a Master of Business Administration, magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame, where he specialized in ethical leadership—a reflection of the values that have guided his career.

A founding member of Autoneum’s Global Technology Leadership Committee and a longtime member of the North American Executive Committee, Jeff has a proven record of aligning global strategies with local execution. He led critical initiatives such as the design and greenfield construction of Autoneum’s 100,000 sq ft North American Headquarters and Technical Center in Novi, Michigan, and spearheaded cross-regional collaboration programs that continue to drive global innovation today.

Among his many accomplishments, Jeff introduced cost reduction programs that generated millions in annual savings, championed lean business processes, and pioneered the marketing and deployment of RIETER ULTRALIGHT™—a lightweight, high-performance acoustic technology that reshaped industry standards in automotive sound control. His steady leadership was instrumental in guiding teams through crises, including successfully managing technical operations during the COVID-19 pandemic by implementing safety protocols and producing alternative face mask solutions to address critical shortages.

A respected thought leader in automotive acoustics and engineering innovation, Jeff has authored and co-authored numerous technical papers and has been a featured speaker at key industry conferences, including SAE Noise and Vibration and NOISE-CON. He has also played a vital role in organizing and chairing multiple industry conferences and technical sessions, underscoring his commitment to advancing the field and mentoring the next generation of engineers.
