Jeff Perea is a seasoned financial restructuring executive and trusted advisor with more than two decades of experience helping companies navigate the most complex stages of operational and financial distress. A Managing Director at Riveron (formerly Conway MacKenzie), Jeff has built a distinguished career guiding underperforming businesses, creditors, investors, and boards through restructuring processes, both in and out of bankruptcy.
With a foundation in accounting and finance—backed by an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management and a BA from Cal State Northridge—Jeff combines rigorous financial analysis with practical, on-the-ground leadership. His strategic counsel spans short- and long-term cash flow forecasting, valuation under varied scenarios, debt refinancing strategies, and the development and execution of reorganization plans. Jeff’s ability to assess and steer the viability of management teams and business plans has been pivotal in turnaround outcomes across industries including pharmaceuticals, gaming, manufacturing, and consumer goods.
Throughout his tenure at Riveron, as well as previous leadership roles at Province Firm/Xroads Solutions Group and Macquarie Capital Advisors, Jeff has served in critical advisory and interim management capacities. His client roster includes complex engagements with companies such as Foxwoods Casino, Jarrow Formulas, Sunland Casino, and American West Homes. For these organizations and others, he has led efforts involving Chapter 11 plan negotiations, asset sales, refinancing of secured debt, liquidation analyses, claims resolution, and implementation of cost-cutting initiatives—all while maintaining a focus on enterprise value maximization.
At Xroads and Province, Jeff managed full-scale restructurings for clients such as Riviera Casino and Resort, Black Gaming, and American West, developing five-year financial models, directing 13-week cash flow projections, and driving asset monetization strategies. His earlier work at Macquarie Capital (and its predecessor firms, including Ernst & Young Corporate Finance LLC) cemented his reputation for leading collaborative restructuring efforts between debtors, secured lenders, and DIP lenders. There, Jeff acted as financial advisor for large-scale companies like Asarco, and helped drive refinancings, working capital turnarounds, and DIP investment strategies, including for airline carriers undergoing bankruptcy transitions.
A CPA, Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA), and Six Sigma Green Belt, Jeff also holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses. His technical acumen is enhanced by his fluency in financial platforms such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and Thomson Reuters products, as well as his early professional roots at Deloitte & Touche. Jeff is an active member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), the Association of Corporate Growth (ACG), and the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors (AIRA), contributing thought leadership and peer engagement across the financial restructuring community.
While Jeff’s biography reflects a career shaped by analytical rigor and strategic execution, it is also defined by his collaborative spirit and ethical grounding—attributes that have earned him the trust of CEOs, legal advisors, crisis management partners, and private equity firms alike. As a board advisor and financial leader, Jeff Perea brings more than technical know-how; he delivers the steady guidance and pragmatic insight needed when companies and stakeholders face their most critical decisions.
