    Gregg Donnenfeld | Experienced Legal Executive and Brand Protection Expert

    Gregg Donnenfeld is a distinguished attorney and accomplished C-level business executive, combining strong business leadership experience with exceptional legal service across brand management, consumer product, retail, media, apparel, fashion, sports and technology sectors. 

    Gregg is based in New York City and currently serves as Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of WHP Global, a leading brand management firm that acquires, licenses and builds global consumer brands.  WHP Global’s portfolio of consumer brands include the following, generating more than $7.5 Billion in global retail sales: VERA WANG, ANNE KLEIN, RAG & BONE, EXPRESS, BONOBOS, G-STAR, ISAAC MIZRAHI, JOSEPH ABBOUD, TOYS R US, BABIES R US, JOES JEANS and LOTTO. Gregg is responsible for all legal matters in any way impacting WHP Global, including as it relates to contracts, M&A transactions, corporate governance, compliance, litigation, intellectual property, licensing, privacy, employment, real estate, finance, bankruptcy, customs and international law.  Gregg helped launch WHP Global and he formed the company’s legal department, which now includes more than 10 direct reports.

    Over the course of his highly distinguished 30-year career, Gregg has also (1) worked at top law firms (including Proskauer Rose, where he served as head of the firm’s global trademark department), (2) established his own law firm (Donnenfeld Law PLLC), (3) served as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Marc Ecko Enterprises (a group of affiliated apparel, publishing and media companies with more than $1 Billion in annual sales and more than $50 Million in annual royalty streams), (4) served as General Counsel of 15 Seconds of Fame, Inc., a technology company that delivers content for major professional sports leagues; (5) served as a trusted business and legal advisor to dozens of businesses and business executives; and (6) worked as an adjunct professor, teaching business, contract and trademark law at multiple law schools; and (7) is a certified mediator, having successfully resolved dozens of business and legal disputes.

    Gregg also has extremely impressive education credentials, including (1) an undergraduate B.A. degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, at which he graduated with highest honors, (2) a law school J.D. degree from Cornell Law School, at which he graduated in the top 2%, magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, and (3) a business M.B.A. degree from NYU Stern School of Business, at which he graduated with highest honors and as Class Valedictorian. Gregg is admitted to practice law in New York, California, Florida, and New Jersey.
