“Strategy is only as effective as the execution behind it”
Frank Huybrechts is a seasoned technology and operations executive, entrepreneur, advisor, and board director whose career spans more than 25 years of leadership across technology, healthcare, software, professional services, manufacturing, and emerging businesses. Throughout his career, Frank has built a reputation for seeing beyond the status quo, navigating complexity, and translating ambitious ideas into practical business results. His experience encompasses executive and operations management, enterprise applications, digital transformation, business model innovation, customer success, project delivery, strategic planning, and organizational turnaround. Whether working with an established enterprise or an early-stage venture, he brings the perspective of an operator who understands that sustainable growth requires a thoughtful combination of strategy, disciplined execution, strong teams, and adaptability.
Most recently, Frank served as Director of Corporate Applications at Teladoc Health, a publicly traded virtual healthcare company, where he supported enterprise technology serving global finance and supply chain operations. His responsibilities included leading and supporting ERP application functionality, overseeing legacy corporate applications during the transition to an Oracle Fusion ERP environment, and helping implement SOX IT general and application controls. He also led teams in the United States and internationally in support of corporate application initiatives and successfully managed the migration of approximately 180 clients to a more secure and accessible portal environment. This chapter of his career further strengthened his understanding of healthcare technology, enterprise governance, compliance, operational reliability, and the critical role technology infrastructure plays in supporting complex organizations.
Before joining Teladoc Health, Frank served as Executive Director of Digital Value Creation, where he advised startups and established enterprises navigating the rapidly evolving digital economy. His work focused on revenue-oriented digital transformation, business model design, innovation, and technology-enabled growth. He worked with organizations ranging from emerging ventures to multimillion-dollar businesses, helping leadership teams move from strategic concepts to executable plans. His approach has consistently centered on value creation: understanding where an organization stands, identifying the barriers separating it from its goals, and bringing together people, technology, operations, and business strategy to accelerate meaningful results.
Entrepreneurship has been another defining thread throughout Frank’s career. As a co-founder and innovation leader at Relevens, Inc., he helped build an innovation firm focused on emerging digital capabilities, artificial intelligence, semantic web technologies, personalized customer experiences, and mobile platforms. He directed multidisciplinary teams, developed new business models, managed technology implementation, and explored how intelligent digital platforms could reshape relationships between brands and consumers. His work also extended into education technology, where he helped launch an impact-management solution for K–12 school districts. This combination of entrepreneurship, emerging technology, and customer-centered innovation reflects Frank’s longstanding ability to anticipate shifts in the digital landscape and translate new technologies into viable business applications.
Frank’s leadership experience also includes extensive management consulting and business transformation work. As Managing Director and Western Region practice leader for The Podolny Group, he advised manufacturing, healthcare, and technology companies on growth, turnaround situations, acquisition readiness, interim leadership requirements, and exit and succession planning. Working closely with founders, owners, executives, and investors gave him exposure to the realities facing organizations at critical inflection points. He learned to assess businesses quickly, establish priorities, strengthen execution, and help leadership teams make consequential decisions when resources, time, and capital were constrained. His background includes strategic planning, venture capital exposure, due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, corporate development, and strategic partnerships—capabilities also reflected throughout his professional skills profile.
One of the clearest examples of Frank’s ability to lead under pressure came during his work with Laguna Industries, where he served as an interim executive and business turnaround specialist. Faced with a dramatic revenue decline, he helped stabilize a manufacturing and defense contractor through disciplined cash-flow management, renegotiated credit arrangements, workforce restructuring, and renewed attention to organizational morale. He simultaneously helped reposition the company’s manufacturing capabilities toward renewable energy production support and electronics testing opportunities. Reporting to an independent board as well as tribal government leadership required Frank to balance operational realities with the priorities of multiple stakeholder groups, strengthening the governance perspective he would continue to apply throughout his career.
Earlier executive roles gave Frank deep experience in software, professional services, customer success, and technology-driven organizations undergoing rapid change. At Hitech Systems, he restructured project management and product teams while supporting mission-critical public-sector deployments, including international implementation activity in Mexico. At Fetch Technologies, he helped turn around a struggling services organization, increased services revenue within the existing customer base, supported investor presentations, and helped restructure the organization during a challenging capital environment. At MineShare, he rebuilt and led engineering, IT, customer support, training, and professional services functions during a major strategic pivot, contributed to the repositioning of the company’s technology toward e-commerce customer intelligence, and participated in acquisition due diligence and integration planning. These experiences developed a leadership style grounded in operational discipline without losing sight of innovation, customers, or long-term enterprise value.
Frank’s professional foundation combines technology with an understanding of people and organizations. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Kalamazoo College, studying psychology and computer science, and later completed graduate work in computer science at Michigan State University. That interdisciplinary background has complemented a career spent at the intersection of technology, organizational behavior, operations, and strategy. Over the years, his expertise has expanded across leadership, management consulting, entrepreneurship, strategic planning, program management, mobile applications and platforms, venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, restructuring, and strategic partnerships. His professional profile further reflects substantial peer recognition in areas such as start-ups, strategy, management, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
Board service has been an important complement to Frank’s executive career. His governance experience spans arts and culture, education, community organizations, and nonprofit leadership, including current board service with the Mid-Texas Symphony and the Evaluation and Training Institute. His past involvement has included the Los Robles Master Chorale, Theatre of NOTE, the San Mateo/Foster City Unified School District strategic planning committee, the Bay Area Educational Theater Company, the March of Dimes, and Rotary. Across these organizations, he has served not only as a director but also in positions involving treasury responsibilities, strategic planning, organizational oversight, and community engagement. This breadth of board exposure gives him an appreciation for the distinction between governance and management while allowing him to contribute the practical perspective of someone who has personally led companies, teams, transformations, and difficult operational decisions.
Now retired from full-time corporate leadership, Frank is interested in becoming more deeply engaged in the business world again through board and advisory opportunities, particularly within technology and healthtech. He has the time, experience, and desire to contribute actively rather than simply observe from the sidelines. He brings a broad perspective developed across startups, established enterprises, consulting engagements, healthcare technology, software businesses, turnarounds, acquisitions, and boardrooms. For organizations confronting growth, digital transformation, operational complexity, strategic change, or evolving business models, Frank offers a combination of executive judgment and a willingness to engage with the difficult work required to turn strategy into results.
Frank is also an experienced presenter who has spoken frequently throughout his career, giving him the ability to communicate ideas to executives, employees, customers, boards, investors, and other stakeholders. His leadership philosophy is captured in a straightforward personal motto: “Do the best you can at all times.” That principle reflects the consistency, accountability, and practical determination that have characterized his professional journey. Outside the boardroom, Frank is an enthusiastic Formula 1 spectator and violin player, interests that reveal both his appreciation for high-performance environments and his connection to music and the arts. He also has basic proficiency in Dutch and German.
Ultimately, Frank’s value as an executive and board contributor comes from the breadth of situations in which he has been tested. He has helped launch ventures, advised entrepreneurs, led enterprise applications, managed customer-facing organizations, supported digital transformation, navigated acquisitions, confronted turnaround environments, worked with investors, collaborated with boards, and guided multidisciplinary teams through uncertainty. His career demonstrates an ability to move comfortably between strategic thinking and operational execution—a perspective especially relevant to organizations seeking experienced leadership during periods of growth, transformation, or reinvention. His goal in this next chapter is to put that experience to work where it can have tangible impact, contributing thoughtful governance, constructive challenge, practical insight, and an operator’s understanding of what it takes to move an organization forward.
