Frank Arena is an accomplished enterprise growth executive, strategic advisor, and business development leader with more than 35 years of experience helping technology organizations build markets, develop strategic accounts, and establish enduring executive relationships. His career spans enterprise technology, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, networking, artificial intelligence, and governance, risk and compliance (GRC), with extensive experience working across Fortune 500 companies, government organizations, strategic partners, and emerging technology businesses.
Throughout his career, Frank has distinguished himself through an ability to earn trust, open doors, and bring together the people and resources necessary to solve complex business challenges. His approach has always extended beyond selling a product or service. He seeks first to understand an organization’s objectives, challenges, and priorities and then works collaboratively with customers, partners, and internal teams to develop solutions that create meaningful business value.
Frank’s professional journey includes roles with some of the technology industry’s most recognized organizations, including IBM, Cisco Systems, EMC, Juniper Networks, HyTrust, Lookout, Anitian, Centripetal Networks, GTSaaS, and ComplianceCow. Across these organizations, he has built multimillion-dollar pipelines, opened strategic accounts, developed new markets, and established relationships with senior executives across financial services, government, healthcare, life sciences, technology, and other highly regulated industries.
A defining chapter of Frank’s career was his role in helping Cisco establish and grow its New York City Government business. As one of the company’s early dedicated representatives focused on this market, he developed relationships with commissioners, deputy commissioners, agency executives, and other senior government leaders. His efforts culminated in arranging a high-level meeting between the Mayor of New York City and Cisco’s CEO, an accomplishment that earned recognition from Cisco senior leadership. Many of the relationships Frank developed during this period endured well beyond his tenure at Cisco and illustrate the trust, credibility, and professionalism that have characterized his career.
Frank has also demonstrated the ability to translate relationships and strategy into significant business results. At HyTrust, he opened eight new enterprise accounts and secured what was then the largest transaction in the company’s history—a $6.2 million engagement with a major global financial institution. Earlier in his career, he earned numerous performance distinctions, including Salesperson of the Year, National Account Manager of the Year, President’s Club and Achievers Club recognition, and multiple awards for exceeding sales objectives. These accomplishments reflect not only sales performance but an ability to navigate complex organizations, build executive sponsorship, coordinate cross-functional teams, and remain engaged throughout lengthy enterprise decision cycles.
Over time, Frank’s experience has expanded beyond direct sales into broader areas of business development, strategic partnerships, go-to-market execution, and executive advisory work. Today, he continues to apply that experience through advisory activities, including serving as an Advisory Board Member with GTSaaS. He brings a practical operator’s perspective to organizations evaluating growth opportunities, market positioning, customer engagement, partnerships, and go-to-market strategy. Having worked with both global technology leaders and emerging companies, Frank understands the very different challenges organizations face as they seek to enter markets, scale operations, differentiate themselves, and convert promising technologies into sustainable businesses.
Beyond the corporate environment, Frank brings substantial governance and public leadership experience. He served three consecutive terms as a Town Councilman in Westfield, New Jersey, dedicating twelve years to municipal government and public service. During his tenure, he chaired the Public Works Committee and was a board member to the Finance and Recreation Commissions, gaining firsthand experience with budgeting, public policy, infrastructure planning, constituent and stakeholder engagement, fiscal oversight, and the responsibilities inherent in public governance.
That combination of corporate leadership and elected public service has shaped Frank’s perspective on board leadership. He understands that effective governance requires more than business expertise. It requires sound judgment, accountability, respectful debate, an ability to consider competing perspectives, and a willingness to make decisions in the long-term interests of the organization and its stakeholders.
Frank earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Economics and Marketing from Susquehanna University. Throughout his career, he has complemented his formal education with extensive professional development across enterprise technology, cybersecurity, strategic selling, and business leadership, earning numerous industry certifications and completing advanced sales and leadership training. He is formally trained in MEDDIC and other enterprise sales methodologies, with decades of experience applying structured qualification, consultative selling, executive engagement, and complex account strategy across Fortune 500 organizations. He remains committed to continuous learning and believes effective leadership combines experience and judgment with a willingness to adapt as markets, technologies, and customer priorities evolve.
Outside of his professional life, Frank maintains an active lifestyle as a dedicated practitioner of Bikram Yoga and is a lifelong automobile enthusiast. A former marathon runner, he completed six marathons, including five New York City Marathons—an experience that reflects the discipline, perseverance, and commitment he has carried throughout his personal and professional life.
Frank is particularly interested in corporate and advisory board opportunities where his experience in enterprise growth, technology, cybersecurity, strategic partnerships, go-to-market strategy, and public governance can provide a valuable perspective. He is especially drawn to organizations navigating growth, market transformation, technology disruption, or the challenge of bringing innovative products and services to large enterprise customers.
At the core of Frank’s leadership philosophy is a straightforward belief: enduring business success begins with trust. Throughout his career—whether working with a customer, advising an executive team, collaborating with colleagues, or serving his community—he has sought to build relationships based on integrity, respect, accountability, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed.
