Eric Fisher: Turning Strategy Into Sustainable Growth Through Ownership, Technology, and Disciplined Execution

Published on:

Eric Fisher is an owner-operator, professional services executive, and technology leader whose career has been defined by the ability to translate complex business challenges into practical, scalable solutions. With more than two decades of professional experience, Eric brings a distinctive combination of strategic planning, P&L management, business development, artificial intelligence, technology delivery, and organizational leadership. His perspective is shaped not only by years of advising and managing client-facing organizations, but also by the firsthand realities of business ownership, acquisition, succession, talent management, and growth.

Today, Eric serves as President and Co-Owner of Clarke Professional Accounting, LLC, an established accounting, tax, payroll, and advisory firm serving small and mid-sized businesses and entrepreneurs. His path to ownership reflects the breadth of his leadership capabilities: Eric participated in the full acquisition lifecycle, including valuation, due diligence, negotiation, financing structure, and ownership transition. He has since assumed responsibility for growth, talent, technology, strategic relationships, and the continued evolution of the firm’s operating model while preserving the trust and continuity built by its retiring founder.

At Clarke Professional Accounting, Eric has focused on creating a business that combines reliable professional expertise with modern systems, thoughtful client service, and disciplined growth. He has expanded the firm’s client base, recruited senior credentialed talent, modernized infrastructure through cloud migration, strengthened security and business continuity, and taken ownership of the firm’s business development and pricing strategy. He has also led the structured evaluation of artificial intelligence tools, applying responsible-use guardrails suited to a profession where confidentiality, accuracy, judgment, and client trust are paramount.

Eric’s transition into ownership builds upon nearly a decade of progressive leadership at Procentrix, LLC, where he advanced from Principal Consultant to Project Manager and ultimately Program Director and member of the executive leadership team. In that role, he carried revenue and operating margin accountability for a portfolio generating more than $6 million annually while directing more than 25 professionals across software development, solution architecture, network engineering, business analysis, and quality assurance. His leadership required him to balance financial performance, delivery quality, employee development, client relationships, and contractual obligations simultaneously.

One of Eric’s most significant operating achievements at Procentrix was scaling a newly awarded five-year, $14 million engagement from zero to approximately 25 employees. He built the hiring pipeline, established onboarding processes, implemented delivery cadence and governance, and created the operating structure necessary to move from contract award to effective execution. Across his tenure, he led numerous full-lifecycle systems implementations, managed legacy application portfolios supporting thousands of users, and developed reusable delivery frameworks that improved consistency while reducing implementation time and cost.

Eric’s leadership philosophy has consistently extended beyond formal reporting structures. At Procentrix, he founded and led the company’s most active Community of Interest, bringing professionals together across organizational boundaries to share expertise, establish standards, and support professional development. That experience strengthened his ability to influence without relying solely on title or authority and reinforced his belief that healthy organizations are built when leaders create the conditions for people to contribute, collaborate, and grow.

Earlier in his career, Eric developed a strong foundation at the intersection of technology, consulting, sales operations, and business strategy. At Sapient Government Services, he led technical planning, enterprise CRM implementations, requirements discovery, executive workshops, product support, and modernization initiatives. During his consulting work with Eliassen Group, he supported financial services regulatory environments and helped translate complex technology and systems decisions into actionable business terms for non-technical stakeholders.

Eric’s time at InfoReliance further broadened his commercial perspective. As Sales Operations Manager and CRM System Administrator, he launched and managed a sales operations center supporting an organization of more than 300 employees and contributed to a business development organization producing more than $100 million in annual sales. His responsibilities included competitive analysis, pipeline management, lead generation, account strategy, teaming arrangements, proposal development, and executive reporting. This blend of commercial, operational, and technical experience continues to shape his approach to growth and governance today.

Academically, Eric holds a Master of Business Administration in Information Systems and Business Analytics from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business as well as a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland. His professional credentials include the Project Management Professional designation, Certified ScrumMaster, multiple Microsoft Dynamics CRM certifications, and a Certificate of Completion in AI Fluency for Small Businesses. Together, these credentials complement a career built on hands-on leadership and reinforce his ability to evaluate opportunities from strategic, operational, technological, and financial perspectives.

As a prospective board or advisory leader, Eric is particularly interested in contributing to small and medium-sized organizations in technology and professional services, though open to all sizes and industries if the fit is sensible. He offers boards the perspective of someone who understands both the executive conference room and the realities of ownership: making capital decisions, managing people, protecting margins, retaining clients, evaluating risk, modernizing technology, and creating sustainable growth. His experience with founder succession is especially relevant to organizations navigating ownership transition, scaling challenges, professionalization, or the next stage of their growth.

Eric also brings a measured approach to technology and artificial intelligence. Rather than viewing innovation as an end in itself, he evaluates technology through the lens of business value, operational fit, risk, and return on investment. His background allows him to engage credibly with technical teams while also asking the questions that matter to owners, executives, and boards: whether an investment supports strategy, improves service, protects the organization, strengthens its competitive position, or creates measurable economic value.

Outside of his professional work, Eric values time with his family (especially outside!), watching football and baseball together, makes exercise an important part of his routine, and actively supports youth sports by coaching his kids’ teams. Eric has also volunteered with organizations including Special Olympics and Rebuilding Together, reflecting an appreciation for service and community involvement. As he considers board opportunities, Eric is motivated by the opportunity to broaden his professional perspective, contribute his accumulated experience in new settings, and help organizations make thoughtful decisions during periods of growth, transition, and change.

Character:
Eric leads with an owner’s sense of accountability, understanding that decisions have real consequences for employees, clients, capital, and long-term organizational health. His record of navigating succession, leading teams, mentoring professionals, and maintaining continuity through change reflects a practical, responsible, and people-conscious leadership style.

Knowledge:
He combines deep experience in professional services, technology delivery, business development, P&L management, systems implementation, and AI adoption. His ability to connect operational, financial, technical, and commercial considerations gives him a broad perspective that is particularly valuable to growing organizations.

Strategic:
Eric approaches growth with discipline, translating strategic objectives into operating models, hiring plans, governance structures, technology investments, pricing strategies, and measurable execution. His experience scaling programs, acquiring a business, managing portfolios, and modernizing organizations allows him to see both the long-term destination and the practical steps required to reach it.

Communication:
Skilled at translating complexity into clear, decision-ready information for executives, clients, technical teams, and business owners. His career has required him to build alignment across disciplines, facilitate executive discussions, negotiate priorities, and communicate in ways that move organizations from analysis to action.
