Eric Coet: Empowering Leaders to Build Stronger Teams, Stronger Systems, and Stronger Futures

Published on:

Eric Coet is a seasoned strategic facilitator, business coach, and organizational health expert whose career has been defined by a singular mission: helping leaders gain crystal clarity about their future and equipping them with the systems, structures, and strategies to achieve it. With more than twenty-five years of leadership experience across construction, design-build, entrepreneurship, and executive advisory roles, Eric has built a reputation as a trusted guide for organizations seeking intentional growth, disciplined execution, and cultural transformation.

Eric’s professional journey is rooted in a deep understanding of how complex organizations operate and what they need to thrive. After earning his B.A.Sc. in Construction Management with a Mathematics minor from Colorado State University, he began a distinguished seventeen-year leadership tenure with Hensel Phelps Construction Co., one of the largest and most respected general contractors in the United States. His roles in operations, marketing, work procurement, proposal development, design management, and pre-construction services gave him unmatched insight into the forces that drive performance, collaboration, and profitability on both large-scale projects and within rapidly growing companies.

As his career progressed, Eric became known not only for his strong operational command but also for his natural ability to bring order to complexity. Whether developing integrated project delivery frameworks, guiding teams through strategic decision-making, or cultivating high-performance cultures, he consistently demonstrated a gift for transforming ambiguity into focus and establishing the conditions for sustainable success. These strengths positioned him as a respected mentor and facilitator whose impact extended far beyond traditional project roles.

Eric’s entrepreneurial leadership emerged prominently in 2014 when he became a co-founder of Old Elk Distilleries in Fort Collins, Colorado. As a member of the founding team, he played a key role in strategic business planning, systems development, supply chain structuring, product development, and process engineering. His work during this period reinforced his passion for helping organizations scale with intention—balancing creativity with disciplined execution while ensuring the foundational systems are in place for long-term stability.

Building on these experiences, Eric launched 44 North USA in 2015, where he now serves as founder, strategic facilitator, and coach to executives and leadership teams across the country. Through 44 North, he guides organizations in clarifying their vision, building actionable strategies, and implementing the structural and cultural frameworks necessary to achieve meaningful results. His engaging, discerning, and highly relational approach makes him a valued partner for leaders navigating growth, transition, succession planning, or organizational realignment.

In 2016, Eric expanded his reach by joining Peak Solutions as Strategic Practice Leader. There, he continues to work closely with leadership teams seeking clarity of direction and organizational transformation. His dual roles at 44 North and Peak Solutions reflect his commitment to serving companies at pivotal moments—when clarity, discipline, and strategic insight matter most.

Eric’s expertise is reinforced by a robust set of professional certifications, including credentials as a StratOp and LifePlan Facilitator through the Paterson Center, a DBIA accredited professional, and a LEED AP through the USGBC. He is also an authorized partner with Everything DiSC and The Five Behaviors. These endorsements underscore his comprehensive understanding of organizational dynamics, leadership development, and strategic planning methodologies.

His career has also carried him into the international arena, where he has advised organizations in Ghana, Canada, and the United Kingdom. These cross-cultural experiences have expanded his perspective and strengthened his belief that while every company is unique, the principles of clarity, alignment, and disciplined execution remain universal.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Eric is deeply invested in community leadership and service. He has served on multiple boards and advisory teams, including the Board of Directors for Resurrection Christian School, and leadership advisory roles for his clients. He and his wife, Jenny, are active supporters of many non-profit community organizations. Together, they are lifelong Colorado natives who enjoy endurance sports, fly-fishing, traveling, and exploring the Rocky Mountains with their three children.

Eric’s clients and colleagues consistently describe him as perceptive, insightful, and remarkably skilled at helping leaders see what they cannot see on their own. His ability to listen deeply, ask the right questions, synthesize complex information, and guide organizations toward clarity makes him an invaluable partner for any business seeking growth, alignment, and long-term success.

For Eric, serving on boards and advisory teams is a natural extension of his life’s work. At this stage of his career, he is committed to contributing his experience, insight, and passion to organizations seeking purposeful growth and principled leadership. He approaches board service with humility, objectivity, and a deep desire to leave companies stronger, clearer, and better equipped for the future.
