Dr. Stephanie Duguid is a leadership culture strategist, executive educator, author, speaker, podcast host, and organizational development professional whose career has been shaped by a fundamental belief: leadership is not defined by a title, but by the experience leaders create for the people around them. With more than 33 years of professional experience spanning K–12 education, higher education, athletic training and sports medicine, executive administration, leadership development, and organizational change, she brings an unusually broad perspective to the challenges facing modern organizations. Her work centers on strengthening the human systems behind organizational performance, helping leaders communicate with greater clarity, build meaningful connections, establish consistency, and create cultures in which both people and performance can thrive.
Stephanie’s understanding of leadership began long before she entered an executive office. She credits her mother, a Welcome Wagon representative and forty-year educator, with demonstrating the power of making people feel seen, valued, and connected. That example became a defining influence on Stephanie’s own philosophy of leadership and service. Throughout her career, she has carried forward the conviction that effective leadership is ultimately measured by its impact on others. Her personal motto, “Serve with Goodness. Lead with Greatness,” captures a philosophy that combines accountability and achievement with empathy, authenticity, and a genuine commitment to helping people grow.
Her professional foundation was built at the intersection of education, athletics, and health care. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Human Performance/Athletic Training from The University of Southern Mississippi, Stephanie expanded her expertise with a Master of Science in Sports Health Care from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine-Southwest Center, a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Ottawa University, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Argosy University. This multidisciplinary education equipped her to approach leadership through several lenses: educator, practitioner, strategist, administrator, coach, and systems thinker. Her experience in athletic training was particularly influential, teaching her to look beyond visible symptoms and identify the underlying conditions affecting performance a perspective she would later apply to organizational culture and leadership.
Stephanie’s early career placed her directly in classrooms, athletic programs, and school communities, where she developed curricula, taught subjects ranging from science and health care technology to anatomy, physiology, and sports medicine, and provided athletic training services to student-athletes. At Estrella Foothills High School, she supported approximately 15 athletic teams while developing emergency action plans, policies, procedures, budgets, records, CPR and first-aid training, and an athletic training student program. She later served as a Lead Teacher at Willow Canyon High School, developing sports medicine curriculum, creating partnerships with community colleges for dual-enrollment opportunities, participating on the School Site Council, and contributing to professional development initiatives for faculty. These experiences strengthened her ability to connect strategic planning with practical implementation while working directly with students, educators, administrators, and community partners.
Her career expanded substantially during 16 years with Copiah-Lincoln Community College, where she progressed through increasingly influential academic and administrative leadership roles. Stephanie served as Assistant Dean of Career and Technical Education, Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Division Chair and Instructor, Assistant Dean of Academic Instruction, and ultimately Dean of Academic Instruction and Chief Academic Officer. As Chief Academic Officer, she provided leadership across ten college divisions and guided faculty, staff, programs, initiatives, and cross-functional projects. Her responsibilities and accomplishments encompassed curriculum development, program planning, professional development, online instruction, student advisement, retention strategies, instructional design, academic innovation, and organizational improvement. Across these roles, she developed a reputation for building consensus, forging strategic partnerships, coordinating complex initiatives, and translating institutional priorities into actionable programs.
Stephanie’s leadership impact has consistently extended beyond administration into the development of people and systems. She has facilitated curriculum alignment, supported advisory committees, advanced instructional innovation, developed district-wide course templates, contributed to student engagement and retention initiatives, and created the Wolf Pack Wellness Initiative for employees. Her career has required her to navigate the needs of diverse stakeholders while maintaining a clear focus on organizational purpose and measurable outcomes. Having worked across multiple levels of education—from teacher and athletic trainer to division chair, assistant dean, dean, and chief academic officer—she understands leadership from both the frontline and executive perspectives. That depth of experience enables her to recognize how decisions made at the leadership level ultimately influence culture, communication, employee experience, and organizational performance.
In 2021, Stephanie founded Do Good Leadership, LLC, where she serves as Founder and Leadership Cultural Strategist while also advancing her work as an author, speaker, and podcast host. Through the organization, she partners with leaders and teams to address the conditions that contribute to burnout, disengagement, conflict, misalignment, and unwanted turnover. Her work includes leadership development, culture and communication assessment, strategic evaluation, facilitated conversations, customized training, and organizational support designed to create sustainable change. Rather than treating workplace challenges as isolated problems, Stephanie encourages organizations to examine the leadership behaviors, communication patterns, expectations, and systems that may be producing them.
Central to Stephanie’s approach is her belief that culture is not accidental—it is engineered through everyday leadership behavior. Her framework focuses on four interconnected drivers: Clarity, Connection, Communication, and Consistency, with conscious leadership and self-awareness informing how those elements operate together. Drawing upon the systems perspective she developed in sports medicine, she views organizational culture much like the human body: when one component becomes weakened or misaligned, other areas may compensate temporarily, but eventually performance is affected. Through her diagnostic approach, she helps leaders identify the adjustment that matters most rather than attempting to address every organizational challenge simultaneously. This practical philosophy reflects her ability to combine strategic thinking with accessible tools leaders can put into action.
As a speaker, author, podcast host, and thought leader, Stephanie has further extended her influence into conversations about authentic leadership, workplace culture, communication, and professional growth. She has spoken frequently throughout her education and leadership career, including presentations at regional and national conferences. Her work also includes the Exponentially Elevate Your Leadership Impact podcast, and her 2025 interactive leadership journal, Exponentially Elevate Your Leadership Impact: A Yearlong Journey to Reflect, Strengthen, and Elevate Your Leadership. Through her writing and media work, she encourages leaders to examine how they communicate, collaborate, navigate conflict, maintain balance, empower others, and translate personal purpose into meaningful action. She remains particularly committed to helping women in leadership develop confidence, clarity, influence, and alignment without sacrificing authenticity.
Her expanding body of work includes the forthcoming book, Create Culture on Purpose: The Leadership Blueprint for Building Teams Where People Thrive, companion workbook, Creating Culture on Purpose Reflection & Action Guide: A Companion Workbook for Building Teams Where People Thrive, season four of her podcast with a new title, Create Culture on Purpose: The Leadership Impact Show, and her new journal, The Intentional Leader Journal: 90 Days of Reflection, Renewal, and Leadership Growth. She also leads the Do Good Leadership Skool community and offers culture and leadership courses through The Great Discovery, making practical development opportunities accessible to leaders at every stage. Across these platforms, Stephanie encourages leaders to examine how they communicate, collaborate, navigate conflict, empower others, and turn personal purpose into meaningful action.
Stephanie brings to board and advisory service a combination of executive leadership, education expertise, organizational development, strategic planning, project management, coaching and mentoring, program development, public speaking, and cross-functional leadership. Her previous university advisory board experience adds another dimension to a career already grounded in collaborative decision-making and stakeholder engagement. Although education represents a particularly deep area of expertise, she is open to contributing across industries because the leadership challenges she addresses—communication, alignment, engagement, culture, accountability, and sustainable performance—transcend individual sectors. Her passion for education and sports medicine remains an important part of her professional identity, while her broader interest lies in helping organizations and their people solve problems, grow intentionally, and achieve meaningful goals.
At the heart of Stephanie’s professional journey is a commitment to human-centered leadership without compromising high standards or organizational performance. She believes accountability can exist without diminishing people, difficult conversations can remain direct without becoming destructive, and ambitious expectations can coexist with empathy. Her approach reflects a career spent moving between classrooms, athletic environments, administrative offices, executive leadership, and organizational consulting while maintaining a consistent focus on service. Outside her professional responsibilities, she enjoys watching movies and organizing, and she values her roles as a wife, mother, former collegiate athlete, lifelong learner, and mentor. These experiences reinforce the principle that continues to guide her work: leadership is expressed most powerfully in everyday moments and in the culture people intentionally create together.
For Stephanie, board service represents a natural extension of that philosophy. She is motivated by opportunities to help people and organizations grow, achieve their goals, navigate complexity, and solve meaningful problems. Her progression through virtually every level of education gives her an uncommon appreciation for how strategy affects people at every layer of an organization, while her entrepreneurial and consulting work has strengthened her ability to evaluate culture and leadership from an external strategic perspective. She approaches board opportunities not simply as positions of distinction, but as opportunities for stewardship—places where experience, thoughtful questioning, collaboration, and service can contribute to stronger decisions and sustainable organizational impact.
