Prior to becoming CEO, Doug served as the organization’s Chief Financial Officer, helping to guide its growth and financial strength.     Before his tenure at the credit union, Doug was a principal at Merrimack Valley Professionals, a management consulting firm advising financial institutions across New England. His insights helped organizations navigate complex regulatory environments, strengthen financial controls, and implement innovative growth strategies. Earlier in his career, Doug held the role of Senior Vice President of Finance at St. Mary’s Bank in Manchester, NH — the first credit union in the United States.     Doug is also an accomplished board leader, having served in governance and advisory roles across a variety of industry, education, and nonprofit organizations. Notably, he was the Board Chair for the National Association of Credit Union Service Organizations (NACUSO), a key advocate for innovation in the credit union sector. His governance leadership also extended to CU Benefits, Member Gateways LLC, and Student CU Connect LLC, where he provided strategic oversight to drive sustainable growth and member value.

    In the education and nonprofit space, Doug remains an active and passionate contributor. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Mount Wachusett Community College and previously served on its Foundation Board. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Fitchburg/Leominster Boys & Girls Club and was Chair of the 2023 American Heart Association Heart Walk in North Central Massachusetts. His past leadership includes roles with the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce and the United Way, underscoring his dedication to social impact and regional economic development.

    Doug’s educational background includes an MBA in Finance and a BS in Accountancy from Bentley University, one of the country’s top business schools.
