Currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Air Combat Effectiveness Consulting Group (ACE Group), LLC, Darin provides strategic leadership and executive oversight to organizations operating within the aerospace and defense sectors. In this role, he leverages decades of experience in operations, program management, aviation, electronic warfare, and business leadership to help organizations navigate evolving industry challenges. Darin’s foundation as a leader was established through his service as a Naval Flight Officer in the United States Navy. During nearly a decade of military service, he gained firsthand experience in aviation operations, electronic warfare, operational planning, and mission execution. Serving aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln and supporting numerous operational assignments, he developed a deep understanding of leadership under pressure, disciplined decision-making, and the importance of teamwork in accomplishing critical objectives. These experiences continue to influence his leadership philosophy and approach to organizational management today.
Following his military service, Darin successfully transitioned into the defense and aerospace industry, where he quickly earned increasing levels of responsibility. His tenure with L-3 Communications spanned more than a decade and included leadership positions as Deputy Director and Director of the Tactics and Engineering Branch. During this period, he oversaw engineering support services for Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division operations, primarily focused on electronic warfare and mission data support. His leadership helped strengthen technical capabilities, improve operational performance, and support mission-critical programs serving national defense priorities.
As his career progressed, Darin expanded his leadership responsibilities with Engility Corporation, where he served as Program Manager and later Business Area Director. In these positions, he managed complex defense programs, directed multidisciplinary teams, and oversaw significant customer relationships within the Department of Defense community. His expertise in program execution, strategic planning, operational management, and government contracting enabled him to consistently achieve organizational objectives while maintaining a strong focus on customer success and long-term growth.
Darin’s executive leadership capabilities were further demonstrated during his tenure with Elbit Systems of America, where he served as Vice President and Site Lead for Sustainment and Support Solutions operations. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing organizational performance, operational excellence, financial accountability, workforce leadership, and customer engagement. His ability to align business strategy with operational execution contributed to the success of critical defense programs while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. His experience managing profit-and-loss responsibilities further strengthened his ability to evaluate opportunities through both operational and financial lenses.
Throughout his career, Darin has developed extensive expertise in aerospace, defense, aviation, electronic warfare, systems engineering, military operations, government contracting, national security, and program management. His technical knowledge is complemented by strong business acumen, allowing him to bridge the gap between operational complexity and executive decision-making. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of Old Crows, one of the world’s leading organizations dedicated to electronic warfare, electromagnetic operations, and information warfare professionals. His involvement with the organization spans many years and includes service on the International Advisory Committee as well as leadership of its Editorial Committee. These roles have provided valuable experience in governance, strategic oversight, stakeholder engagement, and organizational leadership.
Darin also serves on the Board of Directors for Leadership Southern Maryland, where he contributes to leadership development initiatives designed to strengthen communities and cultivate future leaders. His board service reflects his belief that effective leadership extends beyond organizational success and includes a responsibility to invest in people, institutions, and communities. Through his governance experience, he has gained valuable insight into boardroom dynamics, strategic planning, risk management, succession planning, and organizational sustainability.
