Charles F. Mansfield III is an investment executive, business and executive coach, educator, and thought leader whose work centers on a fundamental challenge facing every organization: making sound decisions when the future is uncertain and the stakes are high.
Over a career spanning more than three decades, Chas has advised institutional investors, retirement plan sponsors, executive leadership teams, entrepreneurs, and emerging leaders through periods of growth, disruption, and change. His unique background across institutional investing, executive leadership, consulting, higher education, and coaching has given him a rare perspective on how leaders think, decide, and perform under pressure.
Chas believes that organizational success is rarely determined by intelligence alone. Instead, it depends on the quality of leadership judgment—the ability to evaluate uncertainty, challenge assumptions, avoid predictable mistakes, and make disciplined decisions when outcomes matter most. This belief has become the foundation of his coaching, teaching, consulting, and leadership philosophy.
As Founder of WisdomPoint360 and a Certified Business & Executive Coach with Focal Point, Chas helps executives, founders, and growth-oriented leaders strengthen strategic thinking, improve decision quality, and accelerate leadership effectiveness. His coaching focuses on helping leaders move beyond tactical problem-solving to become more intentional, self-aware, and strategically capable decision-makers.
In addition to his coaching practice, Chas serves as Senior Director and Client Portfolio Manager at MissionSquare, where he works at the intersection of investment strategy, institutional consulting, and stakeholder communication. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles with organizations including Compass Financial Partners, Mercer, OPEN.FINANCE.NETWORK, and Bank of America, where he advised clients on investment strategy, governance, fiduciary responsibility, and organizational performance.
As former Chief Investment Officer of Compass Financial Partners, Chas oversaw approximately $9 billion in retirement plan assets while leading investment research, portfolio construction, manager due diligence, and fiduciary oversight. Earlier, at Mercer, he helped build and lead a national retirement consulting practice serving hundreds of retirement plans and billions of dollars in assets under advisement.
Beyond the investment industry, Chas has spent more than a decade teaching graduate students at Wake Forest University, where he serves as Adjunct Professor of Analytics, Finance, and Economics. Whether in the classroom, the boardroom, or the coaching relationship, he is known for translating complex ideas into practical insights that leaders can apply immediately.
A graduate of MIT Sloan School of Management and Wake Forest University, Chas holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and remains committed to lifelong learning, ethical leadership, and disciplined decision-making. He is a frequent speaker on leadership, governance, investing, and organizational effectiveness and is particularly passionate about helping leaders avoid costly mistakes in environments characterized by complexity, ambiguity, and rapid change.
At the center of Chas’ work is a simple belief: organizations perform better when leaders think more clearly, make better decisions, and lead with both analytical rigor and practical wisdom.
