Andrew J. Kunselman is a dynamic, trusted executive whose career has spanned more than 25 years at the intersection of product innovation, global sourcing, merchandising strategy, and brand development. With a powerful blend of creativity, operational expertise, and visionary leadership, Andy has been instrumental in propelling some of the world’s most recognized consumer and retail brands to multi-billion-dollar success. Whether launching new labels, driving sustainability initiatives, or forging direct relationships with international suppliers, his approach is rooted in integrity, strategic foresight, and a deep respect for collaboration.

Currently serving as Senior Vice President of Merchandising, Product Development, Global Sourcing & Visual Merchandising at Five Below, Inc., Andy holds executive-level responsibility for a $4B+ merchandising portfolio. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, he leads with clear intention and innovation. His tenure has included launching Five Below’s first global sourcing office in Delhi, India, and spearheading strategies for the company’s $1B proprietary brand portfolio. With oversight of more than 700 global vendor relationships, Andy’s approach to sourcing is transformational—moving from third-party vendors to direct relationships with factories and mills to optimize cost, quality, and partnership integrity.

Before joining Five Below, Andy spent a decade at Dick’s Sporting Goods, where he served in several executive leadership capacities. As Vice President of Product Development & Global Sourcing, he held P&L ownership for a $2B portfolio and led a global team of over 175 professionals across North America and Asia. His leadership extended into corporate governance and culture, serving on the Executive Compliance Committee and the company’s Inclusion & Diversity Council. Andy’s influence was not only operational but also cultural, helping to build an organization rooted in excellence, accountability, and inclusivity.

Earlier roles at Dick’s included Divisional Merchandise Manager for both the Outdoor Sports and Golf divisions. In these positions, Andy consistently drove remarkable top-line growth, streamlined assortments for increased productivity, and spearheaded new vendor partnerships that propelled omnichannel sales. His leadership helped the Outdoor Sports division grow comp sales by 14% in a single year and expand eCommerce sales by 40% during the same period.

At Nike, Andy brought his talents to a global stage as Global Merchandising Director for Women’s. Charged with shaping the brand’s strategy for apparel, footwear, and accessories across five global geographies, he led a team of 13 Merchants and helped the Women’s category hit $1B in annual revenue. He was instrumental in launching the “Made by Nike” digital site and transforming the Nike Training Club from a fitness platform into a full-fledged commercial e-commerce experience, blending product innovation with digital transformation.

Andy’s influence in brand building continued during his tenure at Tommy Hilfiger, where he served as Vice President of Merchandising for Specialty Retail. He was the visionary behind “Tommy,” a new retail concept designed to breathe fresh life into classic American style. Under his guidance, the brand launched 18 stores across the U.S. and Canada and achieved dramatic improvements in gross margins and space productivity by strategically narrowing assortments and elevating the customer experience.

His early career began at American Eagle Outfitters, where he spent nearly a decade moving through progressive roles in merchandising and buying. His work in women’s denim, men’s accessories, and activewear laid a strong foundation for his commercial acumen, fashion sensibility, and understanding of youth-driven markets. These formative experiences shaped his holistic understanding of retail and honed the instincts that would later define his leadership across global brands.

Andy is a true global citizen in business. His extensive international exposure includes leading sourcing and development initiatives in Asia, particularly in India and Hong Kong, where he built enduring relationships with suppliers and manufacturers. His fluency in Spanish and his appreciation for cross-cultural collaboration make him a trusted and effective leader in multinational settings.

With a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in Economics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Andy has continually blended academic discipline with a real-world understanding of consumer behavior and global trade. His intellectual curiosity, entrepreneurial mindset, and commitment to continuous learning fuel his ability to adapt and thrive in ever-changing retail environments.

Outside of the boardroom, Andy finds joy and balance in deep sea fishing, boating, and staying active at the gym. These passions reflect his values of exploration, discipline, and appreciation for life’s natural rhythms—traits that also make him a grounded and resilient leader.
