Born with an early appreciation for space, form, and the social implications of architecture, Ken’s journey began at The Ohio State University, where he earned both his Bachelor and Master of Architecture. It was here that he first translated academic rigor into practical ingenuity, even helping to construct an early solar home while still a student. After graduate school, Ken honed his skills in both academia and construction. Ken’s architectural ascent took full flight with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), where, by age 29, he became the youngest Associate Partner in the firm’s history. His tenure at SOM, followed by his co-founding of Lehman Smith Wiseman, and later his leadership at CannonDesign—where he served as both Design Principal and President—helped shape hundreds of significant projects. These include more than 150 built works across 33 U.S. states and three countries, representing over 190 individual structures and 35 master plans.
