In this role, he leads all recruiting and talent acquisition operations for the organization while also building and managing the Talent Solutions practice that serves Cogent’s client base. His work includes direct hire placements, compensation consulting, succession planning, and advisory support that helps companies strengthen their internal frameworks for growth. Before joining Cogent Analytics, Shane served as Practice Leader for Transportation, Logistics & Supply Chain Management at Global Executive Solutions Group. In this capacity, he led executive search efforts for intermodal, drayage, heavy haul, crane, rigging, and niche transportation sectors. His ability to quickly understand industry nuances and identify top-tier talent solidified his reputation as a specialist capable of supporting organizations that require precision, specialized knowledge, and strong cultural alignment.
Shane’s leadership experience also includes serving as Senior Recruiting Leader at Lessen, a fast-growing technology-driven real estate services company. Joining the organization during a period of rapid expansion, he played a pivotal role in building and scaling talent acquisition operations that supported the company’s rise to unicorn status. His work contributed to the development of a high-performance culture, operational consistency, and recruiting systems capable of supporting sustained growth amid significant market momentum.
At Ashley Furniture Industries, Shane served as Senior Recruiting Manager, where he was instrumental in identifying and attracting leadership talent for one of the largest manufacturing companies in the world. He developed the company’s first-ever Veteran Hiring Program, a strategic initiative that aligned his passion for supporting service members with business needs for strong, disciplined leadership talent. His success in this role was measured not only by speed and cost efficiency but also by the long-term retention and performance of the leaders he brought into the organization.
Shane’s commitment to structural excellence also extends to higher education. As HR Manager for Talent Solutions at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, he led classification and compensation strategies, provided expert guidance to senior leaders, and strengthened talent practices across the institution. His work demonstrated his ability to navigate complex environments, influence key stakeholders, and improve organizational frameworks through both data-driven analysis and strong interpersonal communication.
Earlier in his corporate career, Shane served in senior HR and recruiting roles at Salem NationaLease Corp., Lydall Thermal/Acoustical, and Ultimate Performance Services. In each position, he built or improved talent acquisition systems, implemented recruiting strategies, strengthened compliance practices, and advised organizational leaders on culture, compensation, and workforce planning. His work consistently elevated company-wide performance and strengthened the internal infrastructure necessary for sustainable growth.
Shane’s foundation as a leader was built in the United States Marine Corps, where he spent more than 20 years serving in roles including Regional Director of Recruiting Operations, National Trainer, Aviation and Quality Assurance Manager, and Security Manager. His military career refined his ability to lead under pressure, train and develop diverse teams, build systems rooted in discipline and accountability, and drive measurable results. The Marine Corps instilled in him a lifelong commitment to integrity, resilience, and service—qualities that continue to define his leadership style and professional mission.
