    She currently serves as a media consultant for the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Department of Neurology, where she leads the development of strategic media content for community health campaigns. As host of the “Aging Like A Pro” podcast, Rosa leverages digital storytelling to engage diverse audiences on topics of aging, brain health, and community resilience. Her media expertise also extends to grassroots entrepreneurship, having launched The Lou Review Podcast to spotlight nonprofit leaders and small business owners, resulting in new partnerships and expanded brand reach for her guests.

    In tandem with her media work, Rosa continues to improve clinical outcomes as a stroke nurse navigator at the Norton Neuroscience Institute in Louisville, Kentucky. In this role, she has led multiple process improvement initiatives that significantly elevated care transitions and follow-up engagement, including a referral system that boosted patient appointment scheduling from 42% to 78%. She also initiated financial resource partnerships and primary care connections to improve quality of life post-discharge, reinforcing her commitment to whole-person care and a deep awareness of social determinants of health.

    Rosa is a sought-after public speaker, educator, and thought leader. She has presented at high-profile conferences such as the International Stroke Conference, the Kentucky Nurses Association, and the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses’ Advances in Stroke Care conference, covering topics like podcasting as a tool for education, innovations in stroke transitions of care, and empowering the nursing voice in healthcare transformation. Her abstract “Exploring the Role of Podcasts in Stroke Recovery and Prevention” published in STROKE, a journal of the American Heart Association, and her work earned first place at the 2024 American Heart Association’s Quality Showcase for the “Stronger After Stroke” podcast initiative.

    Her leadership experience includes serving as Chair of the Power Up Nursing Advisory Board and Chair of the Ethics and Human Rights Committee for the Kentucky Nurses Association. She is a Fellow of the Kentucky Nurses Association Leadership & Advocacy Academy and an appointed member of the American Nurses Association Advisory Council for NextGen Nursing. Rosa holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University Southeast, an Associate Degree in Nursing from Jefferson Community & Technical College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music – Voice from Austin Peay State University. She is also a certified Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN).

    Outside of her professional achievements, Rosa is devoted to public service and creativity. She enjoys traveling, volunteering, charity fundraising, and public speaking. She is family-centric, an advocate for community wellness, and a proud Golden Doodle owner. She actively serves on the board of the Lou Review Foundation, Inc., and has held leadership roles such as Social Media Chair for the AACN Greater Louisville Chapter.
