Richard Everhart is a seasoned construction executive, project management expert, and industry veteran whose career spans more than five decades of hands-on leadership, technical mastery, and strategic oversight. With 52 years of professional experience, Richard has built a reputation as a trusted authority in residential and light commercial construction, land development, and construction code compliance. His career reflects a deep commitment to quality, accountability, and the advancement of industry standards across multiple states and regulatory environments.

Richard’s professional journey began with a strong academic and service foundation. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Arizona State University, equipping him with both technical knowledge and leadership principles that would guide his career. He further strengthened these capabilities during his five years of service in the United States Army Corps of Engineers, where he held various command and staff roles. This military experience instilled in him a disciplined approach to operations, strategic planning, and team leadership—qualities that continue to define his professional ethos.

Transitioning into the civilian construction industry, Richard quickly distinguished himself through his ability to manage complex projects and lead high-performing teams. Early in his career, he held key leadership
positions at company’s such as the Suggs Homes division of US Homes, where he oversaw estimating, purchasing, contract management operations and coordination of architectural and interior design.  His ability to integrate cost control and operational efficiency allowed him to contribute significantly to project success and organizational growth. While with Suggs, Richard guided the company’s transition from manual to digital control of all product specifications and all office to field communications and visa versa. The first of its kind in the Arizona Residential Industry .

At Pulte Homes, Richard served as Land Development Manager, where he managed the development of large-scale residential subdivisions in the Phoenix metropolitan area. He was responsible for coordinating with regulatory agencies, overseeing infrastructure development, and managing subcontractor relationships. His leadership resulted in the successful development of approximately 1,000 residential lots annually, demonstrating his capacity to handle high-volume, complex projects with precision.

Richard’s expertise continued to expand during his tenure with Homes by Dave Brown, where he served as Contracts Manager and Vice President of Construction. In this role, he directed all aspects of subdivision development, construction operations, and cross-functional collaboration between sales, marketing, and construction teams. His ability to bridge operational and strategic functions contributed to improved efficiencies and enhanced customer outcomes.

In 1991, Richard co-founded Custom Realities, a general contracting company where he served as Owner/Partner and Operations Manager for over 17 years. Under his leadership, the company successfully delivered custom residential homes, commercial projects, and large-scale tract developments totaling over 400 homes. His role encompassed contract management, field operations, and business leadership, highlighting his versatility and entrepreneurial acumen.

Since 1992, Richard has also operated Professional Real Estate Inspections (PRI), where he serves as Owner and Chief Inspector. Through this venture, he has conducted detailed property inspections, construction forensics investigations, and expert consulting services. His work has been instrumental in identifying construction deficiencies, ensuring compliance with building codes, and supporting legal discovery processes related to construction failures.

Most recently Richard served as a General Contractor Qualifying Party and  Construction Code Consultant for multiple organizations including Aspire Design Inc. and Interiorworx LLC.  In this capacity, he
maintained contractor licenses across 25 states and municipalities and provided expertise in structural consulting, quality control  and regulatory compliance.  His ability to navigate diverse state       
requirements and maintain licensure across jurisdictions underscores his deep technical knowledge and industry credibility .

Richard’s career is further distinguished by his international exposure in Germany and his proficiency in the German language, which reflects his adaptability and global perspective. While his primary focus has been in construction, he remains open to contributing his expertise across industries, bringing a wealth of transferable skills in leadership, operations, and strategic execution.

Beyond his professional achievements, Richard is a lifelong learner and passionate individual with interests in gardening, history, and map making. These pursuits reflect his analytical mindset and appreciation for structure, detail, and long-term vision—qualities that seamlessly translate into his professional work. His prior experience in creating and serving on numerous homeowners association boards also provided him with governance insight and reinforced his commitment to community-oriented leadership.
