Randy Brown: Transforming Market Insight into Strategy, Strategy into Action, and Action into Growth

Published on:

Randy Brown is an accomplished global marketing and technology executive with more than two decades of experience helping organizations translate complex products, evolving markets, and emerging technologies into compelling strategies for commercial growth. His career spans enterprise software, financial services, digital banking, payments, insurance, automation, and artificial intelligence, with particular depth in B2B technology. Known for connecting market intelligence with practical execution, Randy has built his career at the intersection of product strategy, go-to-market leadership, competitive differentiation, and revenue enablement. He brings the perspective of an executive who understands that sustainable growth requires more than a strong product—it requires clarity of purpose, a deep understanding of customers, disciplined execution, and the ability to align people around a winning strategy.

Randy currently serves as Vice President of Product Marketing at Tungsten Automation, where he leads a global team of product marketing professionals across the company’s portfolio. In this capacity, he orchestrates go-to-market strategies and product launches, oversees messaging and value proposition development, advances sales enablement, collaborates with analysts and industry thought leaders, and supports customer advocacy initiatives. His leadership reflects a consistent theme throughout his career: bringing together product, marketing, sales, customers, and market intelligence to create a unified commercial strategy. Rather than viewing product marketing as a single business function, Randy approaches it as a strategic bridge connecting what an organization builds with what customers value and what revenue teams need to succeed.

Before joining Tungsten Automation, Randy served as Vice President of Product Marketing at InvoiceCloud, where he led product marketing for the company’s Enterprise portfolio. He directed go-to-market strategies for new and existing initiatives, strengthened competitive positioning, developed thought leadership for targeted industries and buyer personas, and partnered closely with Product Management to bring market insights, customer requirements, and buying triggers into product strategy. Immediately prior, as Vice President of Product Marketing at Billtrust, he led product marketing across the company’s portfolio, guiding launches, messaging, sales tools, competitive positioning, and vertical-market thought leadership. These roles further strengthened his expertise at the intersection of software, financial technology, payments, and sophisticated B2B buying environments.
Randy’s executive leadership experience was also shaped by his tenure as Senior Vice President of Product Marketing at Aurea Software. Leading a global product marketing organization, he was responsible for developing messaging and value propositions across the portfolio, creating sales tools and campaigns designed to support revenue growth, directing new product and release launches, and developing sales enablement strategies that sharpened competitive differentiation. Earlier, as Director of Product Marketing at Viewpoint, he integrated market, competitor, and product intelligence into differentiated value messaging while leading targeting, demand-generation support, product launches, and competitive analysis for the construction software market. These experiences gave Randy a broad perspective on how different organizations and industries can create market leadership through disciplined positioning and customer-focused execution.
A defining chapter of Randy’s career was his more than seven-year tenure with Fiserv, where he progressed through senior product marketing leadership roles focused on digital banking and payments. As Senior Director of Product Marketing, he managed a team responsible for competitive and market analysis and sales enablement across key segments, served as a subject-matter expert for internal and external audiences, and provided strategic recommendations informed by market and competitive intelligence. As Director of Product Marketing, he directed product marketing strategy and go-to-market planning for Fiserv’s digital banking and payments business while leading sales enablement, thought leadership, and win-loss initiatives. His work in this environment also established the foundation for his public-speaking expertise in digital banking and bill payment, areas in which he can translate complex market dynamics into accessible and actionable perspectives.

Randy’s ability to advise senior leaders is rooted in a career that began with hands-on responsibility for market analysis, product launches, customer relationships, and commercial execution. At CheckFree, which became part of Fiserv, he provided executive management with recommendations on strategic initiatives while analyzing emerging technologies, competitors, opportunities, and threats. At Corillian, he drove launches for online banking, bill-payment, and security solutions while developing sales tools and gathering competitive intelligence. Earlier roles with Computer Associates, InFocus, Hewlett-Packard, and Intel exposed him to strategic account management, channel development, customer requirements, technology positioning, and market research. At Computer Associates, for example, he managed strategic relationships with major organizations including Nike, Tektronix, and Xerox, while his time at InFocus included responsibility for reseller accounts generating $23 million in annual revenue.
Across these experiences, Randy has developed a leadership philosophy centered on collaboration, informed decision-making, and the development of people. He has repeatedly led high-performing and globally distributed teams while partnering with executives, product leaders, sales organizations, analysts, customers, and other stakeholders. His strengths encompass go-to-market strategy and execution, product positioning and messaging, sales enablement, competitive intelligence, market research, product strategy, business strategy, and executive relationship management. His growing exposure to artificial intelligence and automation complements a career spent evaluating emerging technologies and determining how innovation can be translated into differentiated customer value. With international exposure across North America and Europe and Spanish-language capability in addition to English, Randy also brings a perspective suited to organizations operating across markets and cultures.

Randy’s executive capabilities are reinforced by a strong academic and professional foundation. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management with a Marketing focus from Brigham Young University and an MBA with a Marketing emphasis from Oregon State University. He also holds the Pragmatic Marketing PMC-IV certification from Pragmatic Institute. Throughout his career, he has continued to combine formal business training with practical experience in product marketing, enterprise software, SaaS, digital banking, mobile payments, competitive intelligence, strategic planning, and cross-functional leadership. This combination enables him to move comfortably between high-level strategic conversations and the practical realities of bringing products to market.

His board perspective is already being put into practice through his service on the Board of Directors of MORE Realty, an Oregon real estate brokerage, where he provides strategic oversight and growth guidance. Randy is interested in expanding his board and advisory involvement, particularly with organizations operating in software, financial services, payments, insurance, AI, and automation. He is open to organizations across a broad range of sizes and is especially positioned to contribute where leadership teams need experienced guidance around growth strategy, market positioning, product commercialization, competitive differentiation, and go-to-market execution. His background working closely with CEOs, Chief Product Officers, and other senior leaders allows him to contribute not merely as a functional marketing expert, but as a strategic advisor capable of examining opportunities through a broader business lens.

At the heart of Randy’s leadership is an ability to make complexity understandable and strategy actionable. He is an experienced communicator who has presented on subjects including digital banking and bill payment and has spent much of his career turning competitive and market intelligence into recommendations that executives and commercial teams can use. He values collaboration rather than functional silos, believes strongly in mentoring and developing others, and leads by empowering teams to accomplish ambitious objectives. Away from his professional responsibilities, his interests in sports and the outdoors reflect an appreciation for energy, engagement, and continual challenge. Taken together, Randy’s experience, strategic judgment, communication skills, and record of leadership position him to provide meaningful value to boards and executive teams navigating growth, transformation, competitive disruption, and rapidly changing technology markets.
