Patrick Schaub: Transformational Hospitality Executive Driving Operational Excellence and Brand Differentiation Across Global Luxury Destinations

    Published on:

Patrick Schaub is an accomplished hospitality executive whose global leadership career spans over two decades of operational excellence, brand transformation, and strategic growth in some of the world’s most competitive hospitality markets. With an MBA from the University of Leicester and advanced executive education from Cornell University, EHL, and Singapore Management University, Patrick has combined academic rigor with hands-on expertise to deliver exceptional results across Asia, the United States, and Macau.

Most recently, Patrick served as Vice President of Hospitality and Assistant General Manager at GVR Station Casino Acquisitions LLC in Las Vegas, where he concluded his tenure in February 2025. During his time there, he led hospitality operations for one of Station Casinos’ premier assets. In this role, he leveraged deep operational knowledge and leadership acumen to drive guest experience, optimize revenue, and align operational costs — all while fostering a performance-driven culture built on engagement and excellence.

Prior to his role in Las Vegas, Patrick made an indelible mark in Macau’s dynamic integrated resort sector. As Vice President of Hotel Operations for both MGM Macau and MGM Cotai, he was entrusted with oversight of 1,500 non-gaming employees across two luxury resorts. Perhaps most notably, he spearheaded the strategic repositioning of MGM Cotai’s 1,600 guest rooms, transforming a singular hotel product into four distinct luxury brands — M Tower, Emerald Tower, Skyloft, and Mansion Villas — elevating the property’s profile within the competitive Forbes rankings and enhancing guest segmentation and loyalty.

Earlier in Macau, Patrick served as Vice President of Operations for Studio City Macau, a landmark project that redefined integrated entertainment resorts in Asia. Over a nearly six-year tenure, he played an instrumental role in the opening and operational success of this game-changing development — a fusion of art-deco design, luxury hospitality, and world-class entertainment.

Patrick’s global career foundation was built through leadership roles with some of the most respected names in hospitality. As General Manager for the Oriental Residence Bangkok, and later for the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in Manila, he led the full setup and operational launch of luxury properties, guiding teams from pre-opening to positioning on the global luxury stage. His leadership style — a blend of strategic vision, operational precision, and authentic people development — earned him a reputation as a trusted “captain of the ship” capable of navigating complexity while preserving brand heritage and local culture.

Earlier in his career, Patrick honed his operational expertise with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, holding key leadership roles at the Plaza Athenee Bangkok, Westin Grande Sukhumvit, and The Peninsula Bangkok. From food and beverage leadership to hotel management, he built a hands-on understanding of guest experience and operational efficiency that continues to shape his leadership philosophy today.

Patrick’s education underscores his commitment to continuous learning and global best practices. Beyond his MBA, he has completed executive leadership programs at Cornell University, including Strategic Marketing and Strategic Hospitality Management, and participated in financial and leadership forums at Singapore Management University. His Bachelor of Science in Hotel Business from EHL, one of the world’s top hospitality schools, further laid the foundation for his remarkable global journey.

Known for his strong background in hospitality rebranding, pre-opening strategy, revenue management, and cost optimization, Patrick Schaub is a values-driven leader passionate about operational excellence, guest-centric innovation, and talent development.
