Marcus Lundy is a seasoned executive and transformational leader with over three decades of professional experience spanning global procurement, supplier diversity, responsible sourcing, risk management, and public service. Currently serving as the Global Head of Responsible Sourcing at Capital Group Companies, Marcus has become a national thought leader in inclusive procurement and sustainability, helping organizations embed equity and excellence into their operational and strategic supply chains.

At Capital Group—one of the world’s largest investment management firms with over $2.6 trillion in assets under management—Marcus leads supplier inclusion and supplier sustainability efforts across global operations. He has successfully built and scaled a business unit focused on driving results through diverse supplier engagement, sustainability best practices, and data-backed decision-making. His strategies have enhanced enterprise procurement, boosted diverse vendor participation, and set a benchmark for inclusive sourcing.

Before joining Capital Group, Marcus served as Senior Vice President of Supplier Diversity at Regions Bank, where he transformed the bank’s approach to supplier engagement. Under his leadership, the organization expanded its revenue streams and built equitable partnerships with minority, women-owned, veteran, disabled, and LGBTQ+ businesses. His impact reverberated throughout the financial industry, showcasing how intentional engagement drives business growth and social capital.

Marcus’s legacy of leadership extends beyond the corporate sphere. From 2013 to 2017, he served as a Birmingham City Council Representative for District 9. In this role, he chaired the Economic Development, Budget, and Finance Committee, overseeing a $400MM municipal budget. He also spearheaded legislation, facilitated tax reform, and directed city-level development projects—all while ensuring transparent, community-driven outcomes. His public service was marked by collaboration, fiscal oversight, and sustainable economic planning.

Throughout his career, Marcus has seamlessly blended public sector insights with private sector execution. At the Birmingham Business Alliance, he served as Vice President of Education & Workforce Development, forging powerful alliances between educators, industry leaders, and workforce programs. He played a pivotal role in shaping the 21st Century Workforce Act and helped launch career academies in Birmingham public schools to connect youth with in-demand careers.

Marcus’s prior experience also includes leadership roles at Wachovia Securities, Wells Fargo Advisors, and Amsouth Investment Services, where he directed executive recruiting, workforce inclusion, and human capital strategies. His ability to assess risk, streamline processes, and guide transformational change has earned him recognition as a top-tier business strategist.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Alabama A&M University and a Master of Management and Leadership from Campbellsville University. He is a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School Emerging Leaders program and the McKinsey Black Executive Leadership Program. These academic achievements reflect his ongoing pursuit of excellence and commitment to lifelong learning.
