Jim S. Lactaoen is a transformational global executive with more than three decades of leadership experience guiding some of the world’s most recognized consumer brands through periods of growth, innovation, and operational evolution. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for delivering enterprise-level impact by aligning commercial performance with long-term strategic value creation. Known for his ability to lead complex organizations, Jim consistently combines visionary thinking with disciplined execution to scale platforms, transform operations, and drive sustainable growth across global markets.

Jim’s career began with the Ralph Lauren Corporation, where he cultivated a strong foundation in customer engagement, brand stewardship, and frontline leadership. These early experiences instilled in him an appreciation for the human side of business, understanding consumer motivations, team dynamics, and the disciplines required to deliver consistent performance. That grounding served as a launchpad where he would spend the next 31 years shaping the future of one of the most influential companies on the planet, The Coca-Cola Company. 

Over the course of his career with The Coca-Cola Company, Jim held numerous senior leadership roles that positioned him at the center of some of the organization’s most significant business transformations. His leadership spanned global innovation, franchise strategy, sales operations, and general management, giving him a rare enterprise-wide perspective on how to drive both operational excellence and market expansion. Whether overseeing large-scale commercial operations or pioneering next-generation technologies, Jim’s leadership has consistently strengthened the Coca-Cola System while creating lasting value for partners, customers, and consumers.

Jim has been deeply involved in advancing Coca-Cola’s technology and innovation platforms. As Vice President, Global freestyle Innovation Center & Next Generation Equipment, he led multi-functional global teams responsible for developing cutting-edge beverage equipment technologies that would reshape the consumer beverage experience. His work helped drive innovation across the $4 billion Coca-Cola freestyle retail platform, creating new opportunities for customer engagement, operational efficiency, and digital connectivity across thousands of global locations, along with receiving industry-leading awards including Beverage Digest – Tech Innovation of the Year for freestyle 8100 equipment platform.  

Among Jim’s visible global innovation initiatives was his vision and leadership in developing the Next Generation Cooler platform, a sustainability-driven equipment design focused on energy efficiency, connectivity, and advanced user experiences. The platform debuted on the global stage at the Milano–Cortina Winter Olympics, showcasing Coca-Cola’s commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship. Through this work, Jim helped redefine how beverage equipment can support both business growth and sustainability goals.

Jim also played a pivotal role in the ‘System of the Future’ one of the most significant structural transformations in Coca-Cola’s modern history: the divesture and transition of franchise territories to newly formed and diverse Bottler ownership groups across North America. This highly complex restructure required aligning stakeholders across multiple markets while ensuring uninterrupted operations and sustained growth. Jim’s leadership helped orchestrate this transition across key territories, strengthening the Coca-Cola System and enhancing value creation for long-term scalability and growth.

One of Jim’s influential franchise leadership roles came as Vice President & General Manager of Coca-Cola’s largest North American region. In this role, he oversaw a $21 billion revenue portfolio that represented approximately 30 percent of the North America business and accountable for 45 percent of growth. Managing a vast network of franchise Bottling partners, commercial and operational leaders, Jim drove industry-leading performance while strengthening the region’s competitive position across all beverage categories. Under his leadership, the region achieved #1 rankings in Total Beverage Value Share. He achieved this through disciplined market execution and strong strategic partnerships across the Coca-Cola System.

Earlier in his career, Jim led Coca-Cola’s Foodservice & On-Premise business across a vast network of more than 77,000 customer outlets. In this role, he delivered six consecutive quarters of revenue, profit, and volume growth while building strategic partnerships with major venues and institutions. His leadership helped expand Coca-Cola’s presence across high-profile entertainment, sporting venues and College & Universities, strengthening brand visibility and consumer engagement.

Jim’s leadership style is rooted in collaboration and people development. Throughout his career, he has built and mentored high-performing teams across sales, operations, marketing, and technical innovation functions. Known for fostering inclusive and performance-driven cultures, he has consistently championed leadership development and diversity initiatives within the organizations he has served. His participation in Coca-Cola’s Catalyst Global Leadership Program and his work with diversity councils reflect a deep commitment to developing the next generation of leaders.

Beyond his corporate leadership, Jim has also been actively engaged in community and board leadership. He has supported organizations dedicated to youth development, diversity, and leadership advancement, including the Boys & Girls Club Alliance Leadership Council, the Network of Executive Women, and initiatives supporting Special Olympics. These efforts reflect Jim’s broader belief that business leadership carries a responsibility to strengthen communities and create opportunities for others.

Jim’s academic foundation supports the global and strategic perspective that has defined his career. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business from the University of Hawaii. These experiences, paired with being a Division I Basketball player shaped his early understanding of global markets and cross-cultural leadership, skills that would later become central to his executive success.

Today, Jim continues to apply his vast experience in global business leadership, innovation strategy, and enterprise transformation to new ventures and advisory roles.
