Jennifer M. Neil is a transformative legal and business executive whose career spans more than two decades at the helm of legal strategy, operational excellence, and corporate governance within a publicly traded global enterprise. As the Chief Legal Officer and Senior Vice President of Pool Corporation, the world’s largest independent distributor of swimming pool supplies and outdoor living products, Jennifer has overseen the legal and strategic growth of a company that has expanded from a $750 million market cap to over $13 billion during her tenure. She is a trusted leader, counselor, and change-maker—one who brings composure, insight, and a collaborative spirit to every boardroom and business challenge.
Born from a foundation in finance and refined through a legal career that began in New York’s elite law firm, Jennifer’s professional journey reflects a unique blend of analytical precision and empathetic leadership. Her early work at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in structured finance, followed by experience in employment and commercial litigation at Adams and Reese, sharpened her ability to navigate complex regulatory and operational matters. By the time she joined Pool Corporation in 2003, she had built the skills necessary not only to protect an organization’s interests but to drive its future through bold and strategic counsel.
Jennifer quickly rose through the ranks, becoming Corporate Secretary and ultimately joining the executive team as Chief Legal Officer and SVP. At PoolCorp, she has been instrumental in managing the legal and operational implications of the company’s explosive growth. Her guidance spans across more than 60 domestic and international acquisitions, the management of over 440 facilities across North America, and oversight of a global fleet exceeding 5,000 units. Her work ensures regulatory compliance, real estate development, HR advisement, litigation oversight, and intellectual property protection all function with synchrony.
A distinctive feature of Jennifer’s leadership is her operational fluency. She is not a CLO who remains solely in the boardroom—she is often found collaborating across departments, offering legal clarity while helping optimize logistics, fleet operations, and field safety protocols. Her role includes daily collaboration with HR, offering practical, grounded solutions to complex people-management scenarios. This multidimensional engagement underscores her value as a business partner and strategic advisor rather than just a legal gatekeeper.
Jennifer has also steered PoolCorp through litigation challenges with a steady hand, overseeing major resolutions including shareholder derivative suits and multidistrict litigation. Her approach is always grounded in realism and risk awareness, but guided by a principle of fairness and protection of corporate integrity. Her work in placing and evaluating global insurance coverage demonstrates her meticulous approach to shielding the company while preparing it to scale further.
A respected authority in trademark law and regulatory compliance, Jennifer ensures that PoolCorp’s private label products, including those produced at their chemical repackaging plant in Florida, maintain robust protections and EPA alignment. Her efforts have fortified the company’s intellectual property portfolio and ensured product safety across all markets in which PoolCorp operates—including the EU, UK, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and the Caribbean.
Jennifer’s commitment to community engagement is as dynamic as her corporate contributions. She founded Swimpact!, PoolCorp’s flagship philanthropic initiative. Under her leadership, the program has provided over 42,000 swimming lessons for underserved youth and trained more than 3,000 lifeguards. This program exemplifies her belief that corporations should do more than just succeed financially—they should leave a lasting positive imprint on the communities they serve.
In addition to her corporate and philanthropic impact, Jennifer has earned recognition on multiple prestigious platforms. She was named one of the Top 15 Women in Business in Louisiana, a 2024 PoolPro Power Woman, and was honored for Outstanding Leadership in Corporate Philanthropy in 2023. Her accolades also include being one of CityBusiness’ 2019 Women of the Year. These honors not only speak to her leadership, but to the admiration and respect she commands across the industry.
Jennifer’s desire to serve on a corporate board stems from a genuine passion for governance, strategy, and shared growth. Having advised boards for over 20 years, she has an intimate understanding of what makes boards effective: transparency, trust, discipline, and long-term vision. Encouraged by her CEO and current board of directors, Jennifer is now seeking to expand her impact, contribute her insights to other organizations, and continue her personal and professional evolution through diverse board service.
Outside of work, Jennifer is a proud mother of three—her eldest currently in college and her twins in their final year of high school. She values her time on the golf course and embraces opportunities to travel and explore or spend time at her home on Lake Michigan. Her past leadership roles include serving as President of the Board of Directors for Susan G. Komen New Orleans and board service with the Bureau of Governmental Research and the Young Lawyers Division of the Federal Bar Association in New Orleans.
