“Do amazing work for amazing people who are part of amazing organizations.”
Greg Carson is an accomplished advertising and marketing executive whose career has spanned more than three decades, shaping brands and inspiring teams across the travel, hospitality, and communications industries. With a natural flair for storytelling and a steadfast commitment to excellence, Greg has established himself as a leader who not only drives creative innovation but also nurtures organizational culture. His journey from a young copywriter to President and Chief Operating Officer of 62ΛBOVE reflects a trajectory of dedication, ingenuity, and an unwavering passion for delivering meaningful results to clients and communities alike.
Born with a love for creativity and music, Greg originally thought advertising was all about crafting catchy jingles. That belief led him to an internship at Mering & Associates in 1993, where he quickly discovered that advertising was less about soundbites and more about distilling complex ideas into simple, resonant messages. This realization became the foundation of his career. He cultivated an ability to identify each client’s unique voice and communicate it authentically, a skill that would distinguish him as he climbed the ranks of the advertising world.
Over the years, Greg’s voice and vision have guided campaigns that left lasting impressions in the marketplace. From Tahiti Tourisme and Love Catalina to Visit California, the NFL, Pebble Beach Resorts, and The Walt Disney Company, his creative direction has shaped the way millions of people experience destinations and brands. His work has always been rooted in empathy, insight, and a relentless drive to capture not only the message but also the essence of the organizations he represents. Clients came to trust Greg for his ability to translate their values into compelling narratives that resonate globally.
In 2000, Mering & Associates became MeringCarson, and Greg took on the role of Partner and Chief Creative Officer. For nearly two decades, he steered the agency through transformative years, developing campaigns that reinforced its reputation as a powerhouse in hospitality and travel marketing. Other than a two-year tenure at J. Walter Thompson, Greg devoted over twenty years to MeringCarson, building long-term client relationships, mentoring teams of professionals, and sharpening his ability to lead with both vision and precision.
In 2019, Greg launched two bold ventures: Crown & Greyhound and 62ΛBOVE. At Crown & Greyhound, he embraced the role of Chief Creative Officer, leading digital branded storytelling for clients such as Wynn Resorts, The Smith Center Las Vegas, and Cannery Row. His work at Crown & Greyhound underscored his belief in the power of digital transformation and brand experience, setting the stage for the launch and success of 62ΛBOVE, an agency built to deliver innovative communications in an increasingly digital landscape.
As President and COO of 62ΛBOVE, Greg now oversees internal processes while guiding creative and strategic teams for major organizations including Catalina Island Tourism, Qualcomm, City of Rancho Mirage, and Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau. His leadership is characterized by his ability to balance operational excellence with boundless creativity. Under his stewardship, 62ΛBOVE has become a trusted partner for brands seeking to connect authentically with their audiences. Greg’s influence is evident in every aspect of the agency’s work, from campaign ideation to execution, where creativity and business acumen converge.
Beyond his professional achievements, Greg has made an indelible mark as a board leader and advisor. He served as Chairman of the Board for The One Club for Creativity San Diego, where he fostered a culture of collaboration among the region’s most dynamic creative leaders. Today, he continues to support the organization as an advisor, lending his expertise and experience to the next generation of creative professionals. He is also an active board member for Cal Travel, aligning his personal passions with his professional expertise in hospitality and tourism.
Greg’s professional journey is underpinned by a strong commitment to personal values. A dedicated father of three, including a youngest son with autism, he balances his career with family, advocacy, and community engagement. His support of nonprofits such as the Humane Society reflects his compassion and dedication to causes larger than himself. He is also a lifelong musician and golfer, passions that not only bring personal fulfillment but also fuel his creativity and drive. For Greg, work is not simply about professional success—it is about creating impact, nurturing relationships, and living a life rooted in purpose.
Internationally, Greg’s career has carried him across destinations like Fiji, Tahiti, and the South Pacific, deepening his understanding of global markets and cultural nuance. These experiences have enriched his storytelling approach, enabling him to bridge international perspectives with local authenticity. His career is a testament to the idea that creativity has no borders, and that stories, when told with honesty and artistry, can resonate universally.
With more than 33 years of experience, Greg has cultivated expertise that spans advertising, marketing, digital communications, and leadership. He has been a constant presence in industries that thrive on innovation and change, proving his ability to adapt, evolve, and lead organizations into the future. His mission statement, “Do amazing work for amazing people who are part of amazing organizations,” serves as both a personal motto and a professional compass, guiding him to opportunities where his skills, values, and passions intersect.
