Known for his ability to scale organizations, modernize infrastructures, and guide companies through periods of accelerated growth as well as market disruption, Gil has established himself as a respected authority in investment banking, capital markets operations, and strategic consulting. Throughout his career, he has combined technical expertise with a deeply collaborative leadership style, helping organizations unlock operational efficiency, reduce risk, and position themselves for long-term success.
With over 40 years of professional experience, Gil’s career reflects a unique combination of entrepreneurial vision and institutional leadership. From launching startup consulting and health and wellness businesses to leading transformational initiatives for some of the world’s largest financial institutions, he has consistently demonstrated the ability to bridge strategy and execution. His expertise spans project management, sales operations, strategic planning, negotiation, account management, business strategy, derivatives, fixed income operations, risk management, and post-trade infrastructure. Across every stage of his career, he has been recognized for his ability to solve complex business challenges while building high-performing teams and sustainable operational frameworks.
Gil earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from New York University, establishing the academic foundation for what would become a distinguished career in global finance and business leadership. Early in his professional journey, he joined Salomon Brothers, where he developed expertise in management, regulatory reporting, and financial operations. This formative experience exposed him to the intricate mechanics of investment banking and global financial markets, giving him the analytical discipline and operational insight that would define his leadership style in later years.
In 1985, Gil began what would become a more than two-decade tenure with Citigroup, where he rose through increasingly senior leadership positions in business management, derivatives operations, and global capital markets infrastructure. During his time at Citigroup, he became widely respected for his ability to build scalable operational systems during periods of explosive business growth. As Director of Business Management for Global Emerging Markets and Global Credit Derivatives, Gil oversaw large-scale global business operations valued at hundreds of millions of dollars while collaborating across compliance, finance, legal, technology, and trading divisions.
One of Gil’s most impactful achievements at Citigroup was his leadership in transforming operational infrastructure and risk management practices across derivatives and fixed income operations. He introduced innovative reporting systems and risk management platforms that significantly improved trade transparency, increased straight-through processing, and reduced operational losses by millions of dollars. He also developed scalable processes that accelerated the launch of new products and enabled more efficient collaboration across global trading teams in regions spanning LATAM, APAC, and EMEA. His ability to secure executive buy-in for transformative initiatives demonstrated both his strategic influence and his talent for aligning stakeholders around long-term organizational objectives.
As Director of North America Fixed Income and Derivatives Middle Office at Citigroup, Gil spearheaded the development of the company’s first fully independent middle office supporting derivatives and fixed income trading operations. Under his leadership, teams implemented new operational protocols that dramatically improved client servicing, strengthened compliance standards, and reduced trade-processing errors. He also successfully expanded and integrated teams during periods of intense growth, adding and cross-training dozens of professionals while maintaining operational stability. These accomplishments reinforced his reputation as a dynamic leader capable of navigating highly regulated and fast-moving financial environments.
After leaving Citigroup, Gil embraced a more entrepreneurial chapter of his career by joining Derivatives Consulting Group (DCG) as Chief Executive Officer for North America. Tasked with building the company’s U.S. presence from the ground up, he successfully established the operational infrastructure, talent strategy, and market positioning necessary for rapid expansion. Within a single year, Gil grew the business to approximately $9 million in revenue while building and leading a staff of more than 50 professionals. Following the acquisition of DCG by Sapient, he remained in a senior leadership role overseeing North American Process Solutions, where he continued to drive revenue growth, operational optimization, and client acquisition across major financial institutions and hedge funds.
Gil’s entrepreneurial and consulting expertise continued to expand through leadership assignments with organizations such as Ernst & Young, MarketAxess, and Genpact. At MarketAxess, he was recruited directly by the CEO to lead the creation of an electronic derivatives platform in response to Dodd-Frank regulatory reforms. Under aggressive timelines, Gil successfully built and implemented a fully functional platform ahead of schedule while coordinating technology integration, trade reporting, compliance, client onboarding, and operational readiness. His ability to interpret complex regulations and convert them into actionable business strategies further cemented his standing as a trusted advisor and execution-focused leader.
At Genpact, Gil served as Vice President and Lead Solutions Architect for Capital Markets, where he led strategic pursuits for more than 50 financial services organizations. Leveraging his relationships with C-level executives, he designed tailored operational and technology solutions that integrated analytics, process optimization, and scalable business services. During his tenure, he developed post-trade processing solutions generating millions of dollars in revenue and closed transactions valued at approximately $30 million in total contract value. His contributions earned him the prestigious Genpact Diamond Award, recognizing his outstanding business impact and leadership performance.
In 2018, Gil joined JDX Consulting, later acquired by Delta Capita, where he served as U.S. CEO and later CEO Americas. Recruited by the company’s founder to expand the organization’s U.S. footprint, Gil led one of the company’s most significant growth periods. Under his leadership, the business expanded to approximately 140 employees and generated nearly $20 million in revenue. He established operational hubs in Jacksonville, Dallas, and Salt Lake City while overseeing business strategy, talent acquisition, and client relationship management for major global banking institutions.
During his tenure at Delta Capita, Gil also led the creation of innovative post-trade loan operations capabilities that were successfully deployed across several major banking clients. He implemented scalable hiring and training models designed to rapidly develop graduate recruits into operational and consulting professionals, strengthening the company’s ability to meet growing client demand. Additionally, he transformed talent acquisition processes by bringing recruiting functions in-house, delivering substantial cost savings that were later replicated across other global regions. His work reflected a consistent ability to blend strategic growth initiatives with disciplined operational execution.
Beyond his corporate accomplishments, Gil has developed a reputation as a thoughtful mentor, speaker, and advisor within the financial services industry. He has participated in speaking engagements at financial conferences, where he has shared insights on capital markets operations, regulatory transformation, and strategic growth. His international exposure across North America, Europe, and Asia has given him a global perspective on business leadership and organizational transformation. Colleagues and industry peers consistently recognize him for his calm leadership presence, collaborative mindset, and ability to guide organizations through periods of uncertainty and change.
Today, Gil remains deeply engaged in the business community through advisory work and board leadership opportunities. As a current board member for Fillwell NY, he provides strategic oversight and operational guidance for a scalable manufacturing platform focused on growth and market expansion. While happily retired from full-time executive responsibilities, Gil is motivated by a desire to help startups and emerging businesses develop strong operational foundations, scalable growth strategies, and sustainable business models. He values the opportunity to give back to the business community by mentoring leaders and helping organizations avoid costly mistakes while accelerating growth.
Outside of his professional life, Gil is passionate about health and fitness, sports, and collecting art. These interests reflect both his disciplined mindset and appreciation for creativity, balance, and lifelong learning.
