Geeta “Gina” Chawla is a founder, strategist, product transformation leader, and healthcare executive with 25+ years of experience across healthcare, life sciences, health tech, AI and analytics, financial services, innovation, and enterprise transformation. Honored with inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who, her professional journey is distinguished by her ability to operate across disciplines with smart strategy and agile execution, aligning stakeholders around a shared objective: delivering measurable value to customers and end-users. Whether guiding enterprise healthcare transformation, managing global diagnostic products, evaluating strategic partnerships, or creating new learning solutions for youth, Geeta has consistently translated complex visions into practical, scalable outcomes that produce real return on effort (ROE). She brings a sophisticated understanding of financial markets, capital considerations, global product commercialization, healthcare regulation, enterprise technology, strategic partnerships, M&A, analytics, operating models, change management, and emerging artificial intelligence capabilities.
Geeta began her career in financial services in New York, gaining an early foundation in markets, risk, financial analysis, and operational execution. As an Assistant Foreign Exchange Trader with Kyowa Bank, she supported currency trading activities and analyzed major global currencies to inform trading decisions. She later joined Citibank, where she managed a secondary loan trading operations team and helped lead a major operational transition to Delaware, including hiring, training, and process stabilization. These formative experiences on Wall Street gave her a sophisticated understanding of finance, decision-making under pressure, organizational risk, and the discipline required to execute effectively within complex institutions.
Her career evolved from finance into consulting, healthcare, and life sciences, where she began applying her analytical and business acumen to product strategy and market development. Through BizConsulting Xlerator, Geeta advised clients on market definition, product strategy, branding, business development, and go-to-market execution. She later joined Roche Molecular Diagnostics as International Product and Business Development Manager, where she led product lifecycle strategy for a global women’s health diagnostics portfolio. Working across science, commercial operations, reimbursement, legal, analytics, communications, and international markets, she helped develop and launch products within a portfolio valued at approximately $1 billion and contributed to growth in global market adoption and sales.
At Roche, Geeta also gained meaningful exposure to strategic business development, emerging markets, investment analysis, partnerships, and M&A considerations. She evaluated biotechnology companies and new market opportunities while helping leadership assess strategic positioning and negotiation priorities. Her work across Europe, Japan, and other international markets strengthened her ability to lead through cultural, regulatory, and commercial differences. This global perspective remains central to her leadership style today: she approaches transformation not as a standardized exercise, but as a process that must account for stakeholder needs, market realities, organizational readiness, and long-term value.
Geeta later brought this combination of product, financial, and strategic expertise into some of the largest and most complex healthcare organizations in the United States. As Business Strategy Manager at Kaiser Permanente, she worked with executive leadership across major California lines of business to translate healthcare reform priorities into operational action. Her contributions supported market growth, complex client programs, analytics initiatives, and digital transformation while improving execution across medical groups, agencies, unions, and internal stakeholders. Her ability to connect strategy with implementation helped strengthen organizational responsiveness during a period of significant industry change.
At Blue Shield of California, Geeta expanded her leadership into enterprise innovation and healthcare technology. As Senior Innovation Manager within the Health Innovation Technology Group, she helped advance an integrated health platform supporting population health, care coordination, analytics, and customer engagement across a four-million-member organization. Her innovation portfolio addressed challenges including access to care, affordability, remote patient monitoring, eVisits, eReferral and eConsult programs, health information exchange, and prescriptive analytics. She collaborated with startups, providers, operational teams, and external partners to move promising concepts beyond experimentation and into scalable healthcare solutions.
Geeta continued this work as Director of Strategy and Innovation for Health Plan of San Joaquin, where she authored a three-year transformation strategy that received Board approval. The strategy positioned the organization to become a stronger innovation partner to providers, patients, and community stakeholders while addressing access, affordability, and outcomes. Her work included evaluating new transportation models to reduce barriers to preventive care and avoid unnecessary emergency room utilization, as well as providing executive decision support across strategic modernization initiatives. This role reinforced her ability to work closely with senior executives and boards while balancing innovation with practical operational requirements.
Returning to Kaiser Permanente as Engagement Lead for Analytics Service Delivery, Geeta led enterprise technical initiatives spanning clinical, financial, operational, supply-chain, analytics, and cloud-based environments. She oversaw portfolio delivery involving more than 20 programs and partnered with technical and business teams on predictive modeling, hospital census analytics, operational performance, healthcare logistics, and self-service analytics. Her work has contributed to solutions addressing emergency department logistics, high-risk patient case management, remote patient monitoring, medication management, supply chain performance, and cost analytics; her work was recognized with a Kaiser Permanente Trailblazer Award, and her team received the Legendary Team Award in 2023. She has also guided teams using more than 100 performance indicators, demonstrating her ability to turn large volumes of information into decision-ready insights for executives and operational leaders.
Today, Geeta is extending her experience into education and entrepreneurship as Founder of YourLifeSkills.net. The platform prepares youth for real-world decision-making by combining practical competencies such as financial literacy and career exploration with foundational life skills, including communication, confidence, self-awareness, self-regulation, and sound judgment. She leads the venture’s solution design, stakeholder engagement, partnership development, AI-enabled workflows, customer discovery, and go-to-market strategy. The work represents a natural progression of her career: moving from transforming systems and products to helping prepare the next generation to navigate increasingly complex personal and professional environments.
Education and continuous learning are defining elements of Geeta’s professional identity. She earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Baruch College and holds dual MBA and MPH degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. Her advanced studies include doctoral work in education through Purdue Global, complementing extensive executive and technical training in artificial intelligence and machine learning, product management, design thinking, Lean Six Sigma, Agile methodologies, and SAFe product ownership. Her certifications and training include MIT Executive Education in AI/ML, Stanford Design Thinking, Six Sigma Black Belt in Healthcare, Agile Product Owner preparation, and SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager credentials. She has also continued building her expertise through artificial intelligence upskilling focused on understanding, applying, building, training, maintaining, and specializing in AI models.
This multidisciplinary background gives Geeta a distinctive perspective for board and advisory service. Her board-level expertise centers on governance, digital and AI transformation, product commercialization, M&A, operating models, and analytics-driven growth. Just as importantly, she understands what happens after a strategy is approved—how priorities are communicated, how teams are aligned, how resistance is managed, how technology is operationalized, and how organizations measure whether transformation is actually producing value. Her experience working extensively with C-suite executives and engaging with boards allows her to contribute both visionary direction and implementation realism.
Beyond her corporate career, Geeta has maintained a strong commitment to service and community engagement. She previously served as a Board Member of Habitot Children’s Museum and has contributed to organizations supporting children, hunger relief, homelessness, cancer initiatives, and other community causes. Her volunteer activities have included meal programs, fundraising, coat drives, and direct support for vulnerable populations. She views leadership as an opportunity not only to build successful organizations, but also to share knowledge, mentor others, and create opportunities for people to thrive.
Geeta’s personal philosophy is grounded in continuous learning, thoughtful action, and giving back. She believes effective leaders can read changing environments, seek the right counsel to set an agile direction, and enable the organization to make it achievable. Her career reflects an uncommon combination of intellectual curiosity and execution discipline: she has moved fluidly from Wall Street finance to molecular diagnostics, healthcare strategy, digital innovation, advanced analytics, AI-enabled transformation, and education entrepreneurship while remaining focused on measurable impact. As she pursues board and advisory opportunities, Geeta brings the perspective of a leader who understands both the complexity of transformation and the responsibility of helping organizations navigate it successfully.
