Frank M. Kromann is a seasoned engineering executive with more than three decades of experience leading large scale transformation, building high performing engineering organizations, and solving complex technical challenges across global enterprises and emerging startups. Known for his ability to bring clarity to highly complex systems, Frank combines deep technical expertise with strong business and operational insight developed through leadership roles in both Europe and the United States.
Frank began his career in Europe working in radar and optical communications research at the Technical University of Denmark before moving into leadership roles in software development and web technologies. Early in his career he founded a web technology company and led research and development teams through the fast moving digital landscape of the 1990s, gaining experience in system architecture, team leadership, and product development.
After relocating to the United States in 2000, Frank expanded his impact through engineering work that included development of cross platform database drivers and enterprise tools used by organizations such as Apple and SiteScape. His work demonstrated a strong ability to translate complex requirements into scalable software solutions used in production environments worldwide.
Frank later played key roles at IntelleFLEET and Fidelity National Financial, where he designed telemetry systems for industrial battery fleets and built security visualization platforms that helped organizations monitor risk across more than 50,000 enterprise devices. These experiences reinforced his belief that effective technology must support both strategic goals and operational performance.
At Panasonic Avionics, Frank spent nearly a decade leading global engineering teams delivering web based crew systems and content management platforms used across major airline fleets. During this time he scaled the engineering organization from a single team of five to two teams totaling twenty two engineers while delivering reliable systems operating within demanding aircraft hardware environments.
Frank joined Amazon in 2017, where he led multiple engineering teams within AWS responsible for foundational EC2 services including infrastructure provisioning, networking, and global clock synchronization. As leader of the Time Sync Chronos team, he deployed GPS synchronized time infrastructure across more than 120 data centers in 25 regions, achieving clock accuracy levels that allowed distributed database systems to scale significantly. He also led one of the largest DHCP service migrations in AWS history and helped integrate HR data from more than 45 enterprise systems supporting over one million employees.
Previously, Frank lead engineering at Guidepoint for a global communications platform supporting voice, video, SMS, and email. Under his leadership the organization rapidly expanded its platform capabilities while supporting hundreds of thousands of daily interactions. Alongside his executive work, Frank remained active as an entrepreneur, author, and contributor to the developer community through publications and open source software.
