Professional Summary

Eric Trembly is an accomplished engineering executive, strategic business leader, and board professional with 36 years of experience spanning civil engineering, infrastructure development, environmental services, and technology operations. Throughout his career, Eric has combined technical precision with entrepreneurial thinking, operational discipline, and a genuine commitment to developing high-performing teams. From his early days in industrial operations to his leadership in water and wastewater infrastructure, he has a unique knack for navigating complex engineering challenges while unlocking the broader business opportunities that drive real growth.

Executive Leadership & Career Highlights

Currently, Eric serves as a Senior Environmental Engineer at Buchart Horn, Inc., where he provides project guidance for medium- to large-scale environmental engineering initiatives. He handles everything from project planning and technical coordination to resource management, ensuring that public infrastructure projects balance engineering precision with operational efficiency and long-term sustainability.

Over his distinguished career, Eric has also held key engineering and project leadership positions at organizations like ATLAS Technical Consultants, Honor Engineer Co., Barton & Loguidice, and Navarro & Wright Consulting Engineers. As Director of Water & Wastewater Engineering at Honor, he specialized in potable water distribution and sanitary sewer systems and developed a close relationship with the accounting department where he learned much about planning and project budget management.  During an early engagement in his career, he helped design a heavily travelled roundabout in southern Pennsylvania.

Previously, Eric was the Vice President of Engineering at Group Hanover Inc. In that role, he empowered technical teams, championed professional development, and worked closely with the CEO on strategic decision-making and business development. His leadership philosophy centers on improving internal processes and cultivating environments where both individuals and organizations can thrive together.

Mentorship is one of Eric’s greatest passions

With a critical shortage of civil engineering candidates, he believes nurturing young professionals is vital to developing the industry’s next generation of technical leaders and project managers. While these rising professionals face abundant career opportunities, Eric’s goal is to build programs that encourage them to grow long-term roots with strong employers. By fostering this professional longevity, companies can rebuild and preserve their institutional knowledge—ultimately transforming their teams into more valuable, trusted advisors for their clients.

Bridging Engineering with Emerging Technology

A defining aspect of Eric’s background is his ability to connect traditional engineering with software-driven solutions. During his tenure as Global Product Manager at Germanischer Lloyd, he worked within a software business serving the oil, gas, water, and electric distribution industries, linking infrastructure modeling technologies with the practical needs of utility operators. Earlier on, as a Client Manager and Applications Engineer at Avatech Solutions, he supported the adoption of engineering software like AutoCAD Civil 3D. These roles expanded his expertise into technology commercialization, software implementation, technical training, and solution-oriented sales.

Eric’s entrepreneurial spirit also led him to found Tremtech, an independent professional endeavor where he applied his business judgment and client-first philosophy. His diverse background even includes marketing leadership at Transviron, Inc. and a rewarding stint in department supervision at The Home Depot, where his focus on customer service and frontline business performance earned him a President’s Award.

Governance, Community, & Board Value

Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Eric is deeply committed to governance and mentoring the next generation. He currently serves as President of the York Adams Science and Engineering Fair, partnering with educators to create opportunities for STEM students. Additionally, he serves as a Member-at-Large on the Board of Directors of PACE Resources Federal Credit Union, contributing to the strategic direction and oversight of the organization.

Eric earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from West Virginia University Institute of Technology and also attended Kettering University. He is an experienced communicator who frequently presents at American Water Works Association technical conferences and regular municipal meetings, translating complex technical information into clear, actionable business strategies.

Central to Eric’s identity is his personal motto: “Fail early, fail often, but always fail forward. – John C. Maxwell” He views board service as a natural progression of his journey. He offers prospective boards an adaptable executive perspective rooted in integrity, resilience, and a comprehensive understanding of operational complexity, digital transformation, and market expansion—particularly within civil engineering, construction, utilities, and environmental technology.
