Published on:

Ed Miller is a distinguished technology and financial services executive whose career spans more than forty-four years of leadership in enterprise operations, fintech, software, consulting, sales, client services, and organizational transformation. Throughout his career, Ed has earned a reputation for building high-performing organizations, developing exceptional leaders, and creating lasting client relationships rooted in trust, integrity, and operational excellence. His ability to bridge strategy with execution has enabled organizations ranging from global technology providers to startup ventures to achieve significant growth while maintaining an unwavering focus on customer success. Today, after an accomplished executive career, Ed is seeking opportunities to leverage his experience as a corporate, advisory, or nonprofit board member, where he can continue helping organizations grow, innovate, and create lasting value.

Ed’s professional journey began at Electronic Data Systems (EDS), one of the world’s premier information technology organizations, where he spent eight years developing a strong operational foundation. Serving as Regional Data Center Operations Director, Business Support Manager, and Project Manager, he directed operations supporting more than 1,000 customers, including over 800 credit unions. During this period, he successfully managed large-scale technology implementations, coordinated regional data center migrations, and established a development facility supporting hundreds of engineers. These early leadership experiences shaped his disciplined approach to operational excellence, large-scale project management, and customer-focused execution while establishing his long-standing connection to the credit union industry.

In 1989, Ed joined Perot Systems during its growth years, embracing the entrepreneurial environment that would define the next stage of his career. Over twelve years, he served in multiple executive leadership roles, including New Business Development Manager, National Managing Director, and Global Director of Procurement. He led the development of enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management consulting practices, managed more than 150 complex business proposals, and implemented Perot Systems’ first enterprise e-Procurement solution. As Global Director of Procurement, he negotiated agreements with more than 500 suppliers while overseeing purchasing and leasing strategies for both Perot Systems and its customers. His work helped establish standardized global business processes while supporting the company’s continued expansion into enterprise technology services.

Ed continued building successful technology organizations at Intelinet Systems, where he served as Managing Director of Enterprise Software and Professional Services. There, he increased company revenue by more than $4 million, added seventy-five new customers in his first year, and helped Intelinet achieve the number one Oracle reseller ranking. His accomplishments earned recognition in the March 8, 2002 edition of Computer Reseller News, highlighting his ability to combine strategic planning with disciplined sales execution. He also successfully expanded professional services into a significant contributor to company revenue, demonstrating his talent for identifying new growth opportunities while strengthening operational performance.

In 2003, Ed joined Q-MATIC Corporation, the global leader in customer flow management solutions serving more than 40,000 customers across 100 countries. As Executive Vice President of North America, he transformed the company’s regional operations, increasing sales by 22 percent during his first year while doubling U.S. sales and tripling Canadian sales within four years. Under his leadership, North America generated one-third of the company’s global revenue. He also guided the organization through a successful transition from product-centric selling to solution-based consulting while expanding into banking, healthcare, public sector, and retail markets. His international responsibilities included executive leadership throughout Canada, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands, providing valuable global business experience that continues to inform his strategic perspective today.

The defining chapter of Ed’s executive career began in 2009 when he joined Symitar, a Jack Henry company, as Director of Outsourcing before quickly being promoted to Senior Director of Operations and Head of Client Services. Over the next fifteen years, he became one of the most respected leaders in the credit union technology industry. Responsible for supporting more than 755 credit unions utilizing Symitar solutions, Ed built Symitar Consulting Services from the ground up and successfully led 375 core system conversions. Under his leadership, hosted EASE clients expanded from just 29 institutions to more than 350, while operations revenue grew from $78 million to over $300 million. His organization encompassed Implementation Services, Card Services, Consulting Services, Client Relationship Management, Program Management, Client Support, Network and Hardware Services, and Custom Solutions, creating one of the industry’s most comprehensive client service organizations.

Ed’s leadership extended well beyond operational metrics. During the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, he helped guide Symitar’s transition while maintaining world-class service levels and customer satisfaction. As the keynote speaker opening the 2022 SymEast Conference, he shared insights into the industry’s resilience, digital transformation, and the growing adoption of hosted core banking solutions. His presentation highlighted Symitar’s exceptional client satisfaction scores and strategic vision for the future of financial technology, reinforcing his standing as a respected industry thought leader. Throughout his career at Jack Henry, he also served as a keynote presenter at credit union conferences and user group meetings for more than fifteen years, becoming a trusted voice on client services, technology strategy, and organizational leadership.

Ed’s commitment to excellence was recognized with one of Jack Henry’s highest honors when he received the FY23 Jack Henry CEO Award, presented annually to the individual outside the sales organization who contributed most significantly to the company’s sales success. The award reflected far more than operational achievement—it recognized his extraordinary ability to build trusted client relationships, support strategic growth, and align operational excellence with business development. His Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification further demonstrates his dedication to continuous improvement and disciplined execution, while his consistent focus on client success has become a hallmark of his leadership philosophy.

Perhaps even more meaningful than his measurable accomplishments is the legacy Ed leaves behind through the people he has mentored and inspired. Upon his retirement, colleagues described him as the embodiment of integrity, humility, empathy, and professionalism. Fellow executives praised his calm leadership style, unwavering honesty, and ability to earn trust during even the most challenging situations. They recognized that his greatest contribution was not simply building successful organizations, but developing people and creating cultures where employees and clients alike felt valued, respected, and empowered. These qualities have made him one of the most admired leaders within the fintech and credit union communities.

Today, Ed remains energized by the opportunity to help organizations continue their growth journeys through board and advisory service. After eighteen months of retirement, he realized what he missed most was working alongside clients, mentoring leaders, solving complex business challenges, and helping organizations achieve more than they believed possible. His extensive experience spans enterprise software, SaaS, fintech, financial institutions, consulting, procurement, operations, sales leadership, digital transformation, and executive governance. Whether supporting established financial institutions, emerging technology companies, startups, or nonprofit organizations, Ed brings the perspective of an executive who has successfully worn many hats, led through transformational change, and consistently delivered measurable results while never losing sight of the importance of people.

Ed’s personal leadership philosophy has remained remarkably consistent throughout his career while continuing to evolve with experience. In 2015, he wrote, “I believe the greatest achievement in business is the creation of successful organizations and leaders.” Today, that philosophy has expanded into an even deeper commitment to mentoring others, investing in people, encouraging collaboration, and leading with integrity. He firmly believes that lasting organizational success is built through empowered individuals, trusted relationships, and leaders who inspire others to exceed their own expectations. It is this combination of operational expertise, strategic vision, and genuine compassion that defines Ed Miller’s legacy and continues to make him an exceptional candidate for board leadership.
