Dwayne Murray is a distinguished leader with a career spanning military service, higher education, and strategic program development. As Deputy Director at Syracuse University’s Office of Veteran and Military Affairs, he serves as the principal advisor and staff coordinator, ensuring the success of over 1,500 military-connected students, faculty, and staff. Prior to his tenure at Syracuse University, Murray was a Professor of Military Science and Department Chair at Alabama A&M University. His tenure as a Cyber Operations Officer at the U.S. Department of Defense reinforced his expertise in national security, risk management, and technological operations, playing a pivotal role in overseeing cyber strategies and operations.

His career also includes executive roles within the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence, where he served as Secretary to the General Staff, managing high-level command group operations, budgeting, security, and HR functions. Additionally, as Commander of the U.S. Army Ordnance Training Detachment-Gordon and Executive Officer at Fort Gordon, he was responsible for critical training and operational readiness efforts, ensuring mission success for both national and international defense initiatives.

Murray’s academic credentials reflect his dedication to continuous learning and excellence in leadership. He holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from the University of Louisville, a Master of Science in Business Administration and Management from the University of Phoenix, and dual bachelor’s degrees in Information Studies and Sociology from Syracuse University.
