Douglas “Doug” Berry is a global customer experience, operations, and transformation executive who helps organizations turn complex customer and business challenges into measurable enterprise value. Across approximately 35 years of leadership, consulting, and commercial experience, he has built and transformed customer-facing operations, repaired critical client relationships, developed scalable operating models, and connected customer strategy with revenue growth, margin improvement, and disciplined execution. His perspective is unusually broad: he has led operations, advised executives, designed solutions, supported business development, built professional-services capabilities, and guided global transformation across technology, fintech, banking, retail and eCommerce, streaming media, social media, and outsourced services.
Doug brings to boards and executive teams a practical understanding of how strategy becomes performance. He has worked at the intersection of customer experience, operations, technology, people, and commercial strategy—evaluating organizations, identifying sources of customer and financial friction, quantifying the value of change, and building executable transformation roadmaps. His work has produced a $29.8 million year-over-year revenue improvement, a 71 percent margin improvement, nearly $18 million in efficiency gains, more than $25 million in quantified client value, and more than $82 million in BPO pull-through revenue supported in 2023.
As Director of CX Consulting at TaskUs, Doug led a customer experience consulting practice serving organizations across multiple industries. He developed assessment methods and consulting tools that enabled leaders to understand customer needs, diagnose operational weaknesses, prioritize investments, and translate insight into action. His engagements generated more than $25 million in quantified value for clients. He also connected consulting directly to growth: by helping prospective clients see both the customer and financial case for transformation, his work supported more than $82 million in BPO pull-through revenue in 2023. He later assumed leadership responsibility for the Professional Services organization, with a mandate to expand sales, strengthen the consulting portfolio, and introduce new go-to-market initiatives.
Previously, as Senior Director and Global Work at Home Leader for Concentrix, Doug organized and standardized the company’s global remote-work strategy, platform, and operations. He designed and implemented a performance-improvement plan that generated a $29.8 million year-over-year increase in revenue while improving margin by 71 percent. He also restructured the support model for remote employees, reducing downtime caused by technical issues by 70 percent. His remit included global performance dashboards, technology strategy, equipment and support processes, due diligence, compliance, and scalable operating models—demonstrating his ability to treat transformation as an integrated enterprise system rather than a series of isolated projects.
Doug developed much of his operational and commercial depth during more than two decades of progressively responsible leadership at Sutherland Global Services. His responsibilities spanned technical support, solution architecture, business development, service delivery, organizational excellence, remote-work operations, and revenue and cost optimization. He helped pioneer technical-support and IT-helpdesk services, created a solution-architecture function that connected sales opportunities with operational capabilities, and designed and launched the company’s first U.S. work-at-home solution. He subsequently helped scale that model by more than 500 percent.
In organizational-excellence and business-optimization roles, Doug led initiatives across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, and Colombia. He built teams of operational experts and Lean Six Sigma practitioners focused on standardization, efficiency, and performance improvement, contributing to significant margin improvement and approximately $18 million in efficiency gains over two years. He also established global scorecard and performance-management processes, strengthened leadership pipelines, and helped organizations create accountability without losing sight of the employee and customer experience.
Revenue generation and customer stewardship have been consistent threads throughout Doug’s career. His business-development experience has covered the full lifecycle of complex B2B opportunities: market research, executive engagement, solution design, pricing, contracting, implementation, and ongoing relationship management. He has led turnarounds for at-risk client relationships, expanded strategic accounts, and aligned sales promises with operational delivery. In one assignment, he helped transform major retail relationships in the Philippines from situations approaching contract termination into strong client partnerships. In another, he grew a national retail account by more than 200 percent over three years while sustaining contribution margins above 50 percent.
Doug’s international experience includes designing, improving, and supporting customer-management operations across North America, South America, and Asia, with significant work involving the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Jamaica, India, and the Philippines. That experience has given him a grounded understanding of the governance challenges facing distributed organizations: maintaining accountability, managing risk, deploying technology responsibly, and preserving customer and employee focus across different markets, cultures, and operating environments.
His expertise includes customer experience strategy, customer success, global operations, BPO and vendor management, SaaS, CRM, solution architecture, workforce optimization, AI-enabled customer experience, automation, digital transformation, Lean Six Sigma, process improvement, account growth, and complex B2B sales. He is particularly interested in board and advisory opportunities where customer trust, operational scalability, technology adoption, and profitable growth are central to enterprise value, including customer-intensive organizations in retail, financial services, insurance, technology, and related sectors.
Doug earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Westminster College in Pennsylvania, combining studies in computer science and business, and holds a Six Sigma Black Belt credential. Earlier experience with Ernst & Young LLP and Coopers & Lybrand added a consulting and business-advisory foundation to a career that would span technology, operations, customer experience, sales, and executive leadership. He also brings nonprofit board experience to his pursuit of broader board and advisory service.
Doug’s leadership style is direct, analytical, collaborative, and deeply relationship-centered. He is known for bridging perspectives across boards, executive teams, clients, sales organizations, technical specialists, operational leaders, and frontline employees—and for turning complex issues into clear choices and executable action. His personal motto, “What could be better than this?”, reflects his belief that high standards, accountability, and financial performance can coexist with respect, integrity, and genuine human connection.
Away from work, Doug enjoys international travel, barbecue, and bringing people together. As he expands his board and advisory service, he offers organizations more than functional expertise: he brings the judgment of an operator, the structured problem-solving of a consultant, the customer focus of a CX leader, and the commercial discipline of an executive who understands how sustainable growth is actually delivered.
