With more than 18 years of international executive experience spanning Europe, North America, and South America, he has consistently demonstrated an exceptional ability to identify opportunities, allocate capital effectively, build high-performing organizations, and deliver long-term value for investors and stakeholders. His career reflects a rare combination of financial sophistication and operational leadership, enabling him to bridge deal making and strategy with execution across global markets.

Specializing in sports and entertainment investments, and infrastructure, Charles has developed a reputation for guiding organizations through periods of growth, transformation, and expansion. His leadership philosophy is grounded in disciplined decision-making, collaborative leadership, and creating sustainable value through thoughtful investment strategies. Whether leading multinational negotiations, overseeing billion-dollar infrastructure developments, or building ownership platforms in professional sports, Charles approaches every opportunity with a long-term perspective focused on responsible governance,  and operational excellence.

Currently serving as Managing Partner of UY Holdings, Charles leads a global investment platform dedicated to acquiring and developing sports teams, leagues, and sports infrastructure. Under his leadership, UY Holdings has assembled an impressive portfolio that includes ownership of Albion FC, Uruguay’s oldest professional football club, an investment in San Antonio FC in the United States alongside the ownership group of the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs, and an executive initiative focused on pursuing the acquisition of a future NHL franchise. These investments are driven by Charles’ vision of creating organizations that combine competitive success with strong commercial performance, community engagement, and increasing enterprise value.

Charles’ passion for sports investment is reinforced by his previous experience at one of the world’s most iconic sporting organizations—Manchester United Football Club. Serving as a direct aide to both the Executive Vice-Chairman/CEO and the Head of Corporate Finance, he contributed across numerous strategic initiatives including corporate finance, operational strategy, investor relations, refinancing, and football operations. He played an important role in refinancing approximately £650 million of debt, significantly reducing financing costs while extending debt maturities. In addition, he participated in strategic player acquisition and contract negotiations involving internationally recognized football talent while contributing to broader organizational initiatives involving scouting, international expansion, and football operations.

Before transitioning into executive leadership within sports, Charles established an exceptional foundation in global investment banking. There, he became a driving force behind one of Chile’s most ambitious infrastructure projects—a US$1 billion desalination platform designed to provide sustainable water solutions throughout the Andean region. His responsibilities extended well beyond traditional finance, encompassing commercial strategy, project finance, organizational development, stakeholder engagement, and executive leadership. While many executives specialize in either finance or operations, Charles has successfully integrated both disciplines throughout his career. During his time at Aguas Pacífico, he expanded the organization’s workforce from four employees to more than twenty-five while implementing lean management principles that encouraged flexibility, accountability, and collaborative decision-making. His leadership style emphasizes empowering talented professionals, fostering strong corporate cultures, and ensuring that strategic objectives translate into measurable operational results.

In addition to his executive responsibilities, Charles has developed significant board-level governance experience. He currently serves on the board of a sports investment platform that owns Albion FC in Uruguay while previously serving on the board of a Chilean water investment platform overseeing desalination infrastructure. He is also an active Board Member of the Cambridge Business Association, one of Latin America’s most connected executive business communities, bringing together founders, CEOs, investors, and directors to strengthen leadership and collaboration across industries. Earlier in his career, Charles also volunteered as an External Consultant to Ashoka Chile, supporting social entrepreneurs through business development and financing initiatives focused on poverty alleviation and sustainable development.
